Only 7 of 12 were usable the remainder were either cut with the grain or were cracked and split. Next time I believe that I shall cut my own.

Good product, use care when forceing the shaft into the foot, it may split. If done properly by clamping the foot, this will not happen but one in maybe 20.

Good quality, does exactly what it says, and makes good footed shafts.

The purple heart has a tendency to split. I have to drill a 3/32 inch hole at base of slot to prevent splitting. Otherwise this product is a great time saver over slotting by hand.
