Great starter product!
Great product for first time bowfishers. Very simple, straight forward and easy to use. Watched the video, taped the reel to an old recurve and let some arrows fly. Had 3 decent sized carp ready to put in the smoker the same day.
The included arrow is a 5/16" diameter. It is not a tapered end, so if your blunt requires a point taper, it will not fit. These are very heavy arrows as well, they might not get the distance needed, depending upon height of the trees.
Yes this would work with that bow.
I am not sure about the reel on your bow since this is more of a "tape on" type reel. I put mine on a traditional bow I carved and it has worked great. For compounds you should have enough room for something like this setup: https://www.3riversarchery.com/great-northern-bowfishing-traditional-gadget-adapter.html https://www.3riversarchery.com/cajun-screw-on-bowfishing-reel.html I also recommend polarized sunglasses if you have them. It makes spotting fish a lot easier.
I'm sorry, I do not have any photos of this attached to a bow.
This should work on most recurve bows.
I do not have a kit for the screw on reel. If your bow has sight bushing I recommend looking at the AMS reels. They are going to perform much better than the drums.
Fish arrows are very stiff in spine and very heavy. As most shots will be close, the spine is not as important to shooting. I believe I spined one of my own a while back and it was for a 90# bow.
This drum is meant to hold the line. Not to reel it in. You would pull the fish in by hand and then wrap the line around the drum once the fish had been caught.
The AMS Safety Slide does not come installed on this kit, but it can be purchased separately. http://www.3riversarchery.com/Bow+Fishing+Bowfishing+Accessories++AMS+Safety+Slide+Arrow+Kit_c56_s197_p0_i5549X_product.html
Nothing that will give you as good of a hold. Goo Gone works very well to remove the remaining adhesive when you take the reel off. The other option would be to get a traditional gadget adapter and the screw in reel. The adapter uses a Great Northern style rubber strap system to give you a mount for the reel. It will not damage the bow or leave the residue.
Yes, you can shoot a fish arrow of the shelf of any bow. I recommend not using any of the lay fletching when doing this. The lay fletching will deflect off of the shelf and give you erratic arrow flight. You are better off to use a bare shaft.
