I haven't used the AMS safety slide yet, but it should be a better way to shoot a fish arrow. However, before installing the slide to your arrow go to the AMS web site to review their instructions. The instructions on the package are too brief and not necessarily clear. Even the 3 Rivers video and catalog pictures show incorrect slide alignment, and there are other installation read more tips to be followed if you study the AMS pdf page.

Only way to go

If you're not using Safety Slides on fish arrows, you should be. Learn to tie the slide on for quick changing and you're good-to-go! Personally, I would NEVER shoot a fishing arrow without a safety slide!

Very efficent, easy to put on the arrow!

Very efficient, easy to put on the arrow! Pay attention to put the stop on the superior part of the arrow when it is put down on the bow.

easy to install. a must for safe, hassle free, tangle free, quick follow up bow fishing. great design and very strong. my son forgot to hit the release on his reel once and the heavy bow string just snapped at the knot---no damage at all to the slide system.

What are the safety stops made out of? Plastic or metal? I am asking this because I bought a kit and the first shot I made the stop snapped in 2 pieces.

They are made of plastic,I too have had the same problem two times now. I am thinking the problem is the bow is shooting too fast.
