Misleading description
You guys need to calibrate your tape measure. It is not the "15 inches" as advertised, but 13 3/4" total length. So you cannot double dip to coat an entire shaft.
I'll Be buying more .
wish I had gotten One sooner.
Big Dipper work great I can't believe I didn't get one soonr
Unlike the PVC ones I have made you can close the lid for over night storage.
The best
I have 6 small ones and 3 big ones. They are the best for the paints and sealers. When I get a new color I put about 6 ounces of lacquer thinner in and shake it. Then wipe out with rags. They are built well and the tops do not leak.
Big dipper
I have made my own paint tube out of ABS but this is a beautiful thing no muss no fuss dip it in pull it out slowly and one painted arrow pretty slick and clean up is even better have to try it to believe it.
Must have product for making wood arrows
This makes sealing arrows fast and hassle free. Fill it up, push in the shaft, slowly pull out. It's that easy. Great tool for getting kids involved by letting them help you build your arrows.
Pro Dipper with lid and dipping system
For a long period of time I followed the old tip of using a piece of cloth, filled with lacquer to use on the wooden shafts. Putting the Pro Dipper at work, I find it very easy and productive in a simple manner, making the lacquer process very eaqsy and accurate. If you buy the dipping system and add a lit, you can preserve the content inside the dipping tube for a period of time.… read more Stir it befor use with an old arrow and you are ready for another lacquer session, so smooth and easy and the tiny amount of lacquer that is automatically put on the shafts, makes it woth buying
Great for arrow crafters
I have sealed many arrows using this technique and this tube and it does a great job. I find a black and decker workmate or the harbor freight knock off of the workmate to be a good arrow making table because it has holes to hold your arrows to dry between dippings. i generally do three dips and c an do a dozen arrows in about an hour
Good tool. Convenient.
It is perfect for dipping arrows and for storing the paint.
They are both in stock.
Yes they can.
As long as you have it air tight it should last quite a while.
The little dipper can still be purchased. The crown dipping paint can still be purchased as well.
We are currently trying to find a new manufacturer for the tubes. We are not sure when we will have them back in stock
On my personal arrows I like to use colored stain and then a clear gasket lacquer over the top. The color gasket lacquer does work but I have heard mixed reviews
It works rather well. The color is deep and it covers the arrows in a thin and accurate layer/ But we also use a pieces of cotton cloth to paint the arrows, this way a little dirty but efficient enought too))
In my experience, color doesn't work with the gaskets. If its a crown dip with stain on wood yes but otherwise your best bet is to just dip and hang the arrows letting the excess run off, the old school way. Make sure the laquer will fall off well before dipping the full batch, you might do a "test dip" on one shaft or an old shaft to make sure it's not too thick, thin as needed. Thank you, -Geoff Smeenge-
I will not be much help I have never tried to use colored laquer only clear. I would imagine that you may have to dip the arrows several times in order to get the desired color. Sorry that I cannot offer more definitive help.
No, the gaskets are sold separately.
Yes, the gaskets and special lid for these tubes are sold separately. Tristan
You can leave the Gasket Lacquer in this container forever. Just thin with acetone when needed.
As long as you put the sealing cap on you should be ok indefinitely. However it is a lot better to put it back in the can when you are done for easier storage.
As long as you remember to cap it when youre finished....a LONG time! I just keep adding to mine...and its been years! Good shooting. ****@***.***
Quite q while, as long as you seal it with the cap really tight. You can add some acetone to thin it with. Sent from my iPad
The lacquer builds up on the other side of the gasket as you draw the shaft out.
You just need to use one of the gaskets at a time.
one is all one needs
Just one the outher is a spare .
One rubber insert will be enough
