An excellent choice if you want to make
This is a great reference volume for someone who wants to make their own gear. Or, if someone just wants to know how some gear is made. If you don't have any interest in making at least some of your own gear, do not buy this book. The book is sometimes difficult to follow due to some odd translation work but on the whole, it is worth the price (in my opinion).
Fantastic Book
I just purchased this book and I had some real concerns because of the not so great reviews. However, I was pleasantly surprised by just how great this book really is. For example, if you really are interested in making some of your own archery equipment, this is the book for you. In addition to making arm guards, finger tabs, and almost everything else related to archery,… read more it also discusses the finer points of making wooden arrows. And, to put icing on the cake, it also discusses how to make a wooden bow making workbench. Lastly, it also talks about how to make realistic 3D Targets!!! It really doesn't get any better than this, and for the guy wanting to make his own gear, this is such an outstanding value. I just wish ALL books and DVDS sold by 3R Archery was so chock full of useful information. I'm ecstatic with my purchase!!!!
Bow Accessories
This book wasn't what I expected, it is still a good book thou.
Good book for people in traditon archery
Very good book, explained a lot of the things that I had forgotten when I made arows back in the 60s and early 90s. Also was amazed at all of the different kinds of quivers that can be made. Was happy to find the measurment for the trapper chair, that I had made while in a black powder club in the 90s.
First Review
Originally written in another language. I'd guess German, but could be wrong. I like the book, don't get me wrong. I was expecting something a little more informative though. In my copy, pg. 18 and pg. 19 have the same wording in the right hand column. Editors mistake I suppose. Also whoever translated it, Dr. Edward Force in Conneticut, must not be an archer because every time… read more they speak of a noch, he translates it as "notch". I'll use the book, but for the price I was a bit let down. Sorry guys. :( [...]
