Got me started with footed arrows
Get this video and make beautiful arrows
This is an excellent video. It is packed with detailed information on building footed arrows as well as other bonus information such as feather splicing. The jigs shown in this video are very well designed and will greatly facilitate making beautifully crafted footed arrows. If you want to build the jigs I highly recommend getting the plans on DVD. I have to strongly disagree… read more with two of the other reviews of this product. First, it is absolutely not true that you have to be a cabinet maker to build the jigs shown in the video. Any weekend woodworker with a modest shop in their garage (or access to one) can build these jigs. They are fun to build and the time invested will be well worth it in terms of the quality of the arrows you will be able to produce. Second, to say that the video is just a long winded advertisement to sell the jigs is ridiculous. There is an abundance of useful information that is relevant to every step of the process from beginning to end. If you are interested in producing high quality and beautifully crafted footed arrows, then get this video.
Footed shaft
wow what a long commercial for their products, how else can this dvd be described. I loved the information on actually making footed shafts and it was very informative. I think the folks have done a very good job of making a business of making footd shafts and that is wonderful for them. there are simpler ways to do this and if you are not going into the business of making footed… read more shafts then their jigs and other parephenilia will not help you in the long run. I do not recomend this video for the following reasons. 1. If you are not a cabinet maker then you will not be able to make the jigs for yourself 2.if you want to make your own jigs plans are available from other sources. 3. Cheaper and easier to use jigs are available from 3Rivers I liked it because it 1. Showed me the advantages of footed shafts 2shows some beautiful arrows 3. lets me know there is more than one way to get the product I want and a lesser cost.
Easy to understand instructions. Great!
Very informative and detailed information on how to actually make footed arrows. I really appreciate this DVD.
Great resource
I'm currently building a recurve so I haven't turned any arrows yet. The video is very informative, this is a how to video not an entertainment video and is packed full of info. and thats what I like about it. I was able to understand 95% of everything mentioned the first time I watched it. I have ordered the Cd with the plans of how to build the jigs; actually spoke with Gary(great… read more guy, very friendly and helpful).
One word WOW!!!
well planned out very easy to understand and in formitive. would highly recommend to any and all traditional shooters that want to experince the fun and joy of tradional archery and making of your own equipment
Very enlightning, enjoyed watching
I've built my own footed shafts for years. Not only did Gary and Connie cover the methods I have used but was interested in the jigs displayed from Gary (a cabinet maker) view point. These are well though out jigs and not only their jigs are shown but other techniques as well. The feather splicing was well done. I would have liked to see more close ups during the presentation.… read more but the overall information is good. The quality of the video work is very good. I will be able to use this DVD for years to come. An excellent DVD for someone wanting to go into the arrow making business.
It puts one foot in front of another
I am just getting started in the footing process and this video really hit the spot. Great infomation. You will have to watch it several times to really extract all the info.
Good info
even though i don`t own a workshop or expensive tools , i build my own selfbows so i think i can get it done , good info although gary speaks just a little slow for me , there were a couple of times while connie was splicing feathers i was hoping they would zoom in , the camera should have been set on her hands , i got the general idea and will try it .
Everything You Ever Wanted to Know....
Though labor intensive to build, if you've ever wanted to construct footed arrows, this is your DVD. Gary & Connie are very through, and leave no stone unturned. Gary shows you which jigs are needed and how to construct them. Connie's slicing instruction and alternative footing methods are a nice bonus. For a home production, movie is professional and very well thought out.
They are regular DVDs.
These disc's is a dual layer disc. They are DVD+R DL disc's. They cost more to use but by using the dual layer a person does not have to manually insert a second disc to continue the movie.
