I was hesitant to purchase this reel after reading some of the reviews but I couldn't justify spending the money to buy a higher priced reel without at least trying this one out first. I'm glad I did. This reel does everything it was designed to do and that's allow an archer to take rough fish with a bow and arrow. I like that it is simple with no moving parts to break or damage.… read more I thought by looking at it that it would be made of plastic but it's actually made of a light and durable metal. I like bang for your buck products that do what they're supposed to do without breaking the bank. Like the Samick Sage I mounted it to this reel get's the job done and leaves money in your pocket. I can see how the more expensive reels would have their advantages and I might still try one later on but for getting started bowfishing this little Cajun job does the trick. I took three longnose gar and shot a huge common carp with it in one afternoon first time bowfishing. Could have shot more but that's all I wanted to clean in one evening. lol I do wish that it came with more line as I felt somewhat limited by the length of line supplied but you can always get a longer line for it if need be. Overall very pleased. Highly reccomend this produsct for the beginning bowfisherman.
Easy and fast installation on your bow.

The challenge is to avoid that your line get tangle or stock somewhere when you shoot the arrow. I'm working on the technique but did not find yet the sure way to avoid your line to be stock.

This reel is aggravating it snaps your line with the clip quite often

what keeps the line tight on the reel? does it come with line?
There is a small meatal clip on the reel that will hold the tail

There is a small meatal clip on the reel that will hold the tail end of the line when you have the arrow on the string so that the line does not fall off before shooting. This reel does not come with the line.
