I would definitely buy this again
Tried tabs in the past and never had any good luck with them. Bought this tab last season and what a difference from using a glove to this tab. my release is super smooth and have tighter groups. Very well made and broke in quickly. bought a second for a backup being this will be my first year in the woods with a tab
Would buy again
Good product. Been using a Black Widow and wanted to see if this would give a smoother release. So far no complaints.
Unusable
The cordovan tab itself is fine but the leather at the finger notch is backed with a stiff synthetic (notice the half-moon protrusion that's supposed to keep it in place). This wedges into the finger at a steep angle and bites into the skin. I trimmed it but it didn't help. Ideally, a glove like this would break in however, this glove is so distracting that it's impossible to focus… read more on your shot.
Go for 3 under
I ordered a Fred Eichler 3 under tab first, but then realized shooting 3 under didn't work with my horse bow. The quality was excellent and I fell in love with it and cut out a notch to use as a split finger tab while waiting for the actual split finger tab to come in. The split finger tab seemed like it was made by a different company almost. The backing of the 3 under is a nice… read more suede like material, on the split finger it's some kind of thin rubber and it goes all the way up to the finger hole and digs in to the top of your finger. The leather itself is thick and beautiful on the 3 under but shiny, thin, and kind of tacky on the split.
Great tab, well made
Great tab
I would buy this product again
This my 1st foray into an upgrade shooting tab. Most of my shooting has been with a glove, or cost effective calf hair tab. Release is slick and feel is coming around after some break in. Would definitely recommend giving it a try.

Disappointed
I'm a backyard archer and beginner hunter. Been shooting for many year now. I ordered a Fred Eichler shooting tab about 3 year ago, and the quality on my new one is severely lacking compared to my first tab. The leather is thinner and appears cheaper some how, and the glue used is completely separating right out of the box. I haven't even used it and it looks to be falling apart.… read more I'm in Canada and ordering this cost significantly more than other tabs, but I assumed the quality would be there. Needless to say, I'm pretty darn disappointed.
Fantastic tab
Best tab I have found yet.
Fantastic tab been looking for this
Great tab been looking for this feel and protection.
Sizing is about the length and width of the tab, the hole size will not matter if it is loose.
I have long fairly slender "guitarist hands" so I ordered a L and XL. There isn't much difference in the hole (noticeable but still slight). The main difference between them is width, especially the one over. The L fits me perfectly. my middle finger is approximately an 1" 1/16 (cant remember ring size) and both the XL and L will not fall off my finger. Hope that helps.
i built the hole up with tape. and its nice and tight.
The tab should line up with the first knuckle groove from the end of your fingers. The larger sizes will get longer from top to bottom.
Yes that is correct.
Yes you would order a right handed tab
Correct

That is correct; right tab goes on your right shooting hand. Left tab if you shoot lefty. I've been using this Fred Eichler tab for a few months with no complaints. It softens up the longer I use it. Cheers! AlexFredericksburg, VA
That is correct. Which ever hand you pull back the string determines which hand it is: pulling the string with your right hand, is right handed.
I would base the size off of like a work glove, driving, golf etc. If it does not fit you can send it back for a different size. If it is a little big you can always trim a tab down with a pair of scissors.
I use glove size. I use large gloves so I get the large finger tab. If the tab is going to be used with gloves (winter hunting) get the size bigger. The tab hole will stretch initially and you can always trim the end of the tab if it over hangs the end of your fingers when you draw back. Cheers Clint
I have found that the finger should be large enough to be loose and the tab should well cover the width of your fingers. I have long fingers so finding a tab that covers my finger tips is a challenge. For winter go up a size or 2 depending on your gloves.
Dear longbow: The "Berlin" style glove size recommendations, on the Three Rivers Web site, turned out to be about right for me. I'm 6'1" and weigh 225 pounds, so I am used to buying "XL" sizes for t-shirts, and the like. But this informal "rule of thumb" proved to be dead wrong, in the case of the Eichler tab. I now shoot, and much prefer, the "L" or "Large" cordovan tab -- and NOT the "XL" tab. I shoot a 65 lb., 70" longbow, split-finger style, with a "deep" hook -- and thus by far the greatest "friction point" on my release, is the "crease" between the first and second joints, of the first three fingers of my string hand. The Eichler tab covers this high-friction "crease" area perfectly. But I also like the tab to stop, and leave "uncovered", the extreme tips of all three shooting fingers. All I feel on the release, is a soft pleasant thump, on the tips of all three fingers -- as the string gently pushes, and rolls them out of the way. And not to worry, even if you order the wrong size the first time -- as I did, the cordovan leather on the SECOND tab you order, which will be the correct size, will more than outlast any THREE calf's hair tabs, you could have bought in its place. And your initial mistake, should be close to paying for itself already. As Howard Hill once said, everyone has an excuse, for missing the first shot -- but nobody has an excuse, for missing the second. So shoot straight, and good luck :) Doug
This tab does not come in a small size. The best solution would be to get a medium and to trim it to fit.

It is one piece of thick stiff cordovan leather with thin, almost rubber like second layer. After a couple hundred releases of more it starts soften and has excellent feel... three legged wolf
The tab has two layers. The cordovan at the string and a thin layer of some rubberized fabric. I think the leather at the finger hole is top grain stitched to the cordovan. It is not three layers here though. I suppose if you wanted more feel you could cut the rubberized fabric off and just go with the one layer. I have been very pleased with this tab and need to order another one for a standby. .......... Hmmm, no time like the present. Hope this helps, Bruce Sent from my iPad
One is leather. The other is rubber.
No their is no anti pinch or plans to instal one because we have the Bateman Cordovan tab with the anti pinch

Spacers are a personal preference. They are not a necessary piece of a tab.
Shooting Gloves/Tabs Extend your hand flat. With a measuring tape, wrap it around the hand just below the knuckles and fingers, but above the thumb. Apply the measurement to the chart below. Order the smaller size if an in-between size, as leather does tend to strech to fit. Gloves/Tabs If Hand Measures Men's Sizes 7.5" - 8" = Small 8.5" - 9" = Medium 9.5" -10" = Large 10.5"-11" = X-Large
now I;m going to give you and example on how I size abs for myself and it has been pretty consistent with all tabs I have tried. MY middle finger is 3.5" long and my middle finger sticks out 1/2" past the XL tab when fingers are straight. on the string the end of my fingers match up to the end of the tab. I hope this helps, if not contact the customer service reps at 3 Rivers Archery, they are the best.
