Full Length all-natural barred wild turkey feathers. Wild turkey feathers are sturdier and more water resistant than feathers from farm-raised turkeys. They are untreated, meaning they retain their natural oils. We offer Left wing and Right wing natural turkey feathers in primary flight and secondary flight feathers. Primary are the most prized as they are the strongest and longer feathers. Primary are found at the end of a turkey's wing and number in only a few feathers per wing. Secondary flight feathers are just inside from the primary feathers and are shorter, but still usable feathers for fletching arrows. They are in greater amount per each wing so they are normally not as expensive as primary feathers. Sold by the dozen and we have Limited supplies. No back orders allowed. ...read more

Yes, you will be able to get a 5.5" feather out of these.
If you don't mind taking the time and burning or cutting your own feathers, then splicing is a great way to get the most out of your investment. We used to splice pieces of trimmed feather just to save $$$$ on feathers and get the most out of each quill.
I don't see why not. They are about 8 inches in length though the top of the feather can be a little weaker.
Yes, you should be able to make any normal cuts and get one at 5.5" per feather.
