Adhesive backed strips of synthetic fur that have no negative impact on arrow flight, but allow you to see where your arrow impacts. They form a bright and easy to see patch of color on impact with game or targets. Fur tracers are the thing for low lght conditions.
I love to hunt during the last half hour of shooting light and have taken some of my best bucks at days end. White fur tracers added between my fletching and nock allow me to identify the exact location of my shot placement and are a great aid in deciding how soon to begin following up a successful shot.
Great stuff!
This is great! I just installed the fur tracers and they are great! For the standard diameter carbon arrow, you need 1 1/8" strips. I used the fetching tape (3 spiral wraps of tape was how wide the strips are) to get the fur tracers to stay on better and it has not fallen off. 1 star loss for not having better adhesive. I am sure any fetching glue would work too. That is the only… read more down side. Some people say they "fall apart". This has not been the case for me. When you open the package, hold the "flesh" side and gently remove the excess fur. I am sure this is from them cutting the strips at the factory. Once the loose excess fur is gone, you can start. Cut them at an angle on both ends. Each side should be 1 1/8" long and cut by marking your angle then sliding the scissors through the fur close to the flesh side. This keeps you from cutting the tracer fur. Once installed, I gave it a haircut so that they were as long as my feathers are tall. This way they do not get stuck between my tab and string. Greatly improves visibility and allows you to see arrow flight! Really nice when bare Shaft running as it can tell you easily if you are in line or not. You will not be sorry you got them!
Quality product
the best fur tracer in the market. will eventually fall off but can be glued back on.
I Love This Product !!!!
I use the rabbit hair tracers on all of my arrows and for an old half blind guy like me to be able to see where I hit is a true blessing. I love them and have used them for many years and just recently found that 3 Rivers Archery sells them.
The Only Product on the Market.
This product is the only one of its type on the market is easy to apply and does not affect the speed of the arrow. The quality of the ' fur ' can be variable - it needs to be of a consistent thickness - and the self adhesive tape can be assisted with a spot of Fletch Tite.
Great Product!!!!!
Easy to install , practical and functional for its purpose.
They're Just OK
Got these for my son to help visualize the arrow on the target. They're just OK. Not overly impressed. They do increase the visual appearance of the arrow but they're just not as visible as I was anticipating and would have liked. The fuzz pulls out a bit and have worn thinner since using. I did use fletching tape as one reviewer commented and this worked very well for me.… read more They work very well for arrows with glue on nocks that you want some added target visibility. For the best visibility I prefer a lighted nock, and despite the limitations of a non lighted product, I still feel these are only average and could be improved with a thicker nap to the hair/fuzz on the tape that would increase the visibility. I got the orange color since other reviewers commented this was the most visible color.
Essential for youth or beginners
I would HIGHLY recommend installing these on youth or beginner's arrows. They make the arrow stand out a lot more and they also produce a little more "drag", which is good because a missed arrow doesn't end up in the next state over. I purchased several different colors and found that each was a bit different. The white ones were very short with a thin band, whereas the lime… read more green ones were very long with very wide bands. I don't think that I would recommend these for more experienced archers. Unless you are planning on taking these with you hunting, I would not suggest using any arrows or bow you are not planning on taking up on the mountain with you. Consistency, always. When installing, make sure that the shaft is clean and that there is no overlap when you wrap it around. Shorter is better than longer. As far as durability is concerned, they could outlast the fletching as long as they stay on.
Great Idea! Great Product!
At the age of 67 years, my eyesight is not as good as it once was. I was finding it very difficult to see the point of impact on my target face. I purchased a package of orange fur tracers for my Easton 1916 arrows. Subsequently, I purchased fluorescent lime tracers for my Easton 500 spine arrows. The orange tracers are very visible downrange. The fl-lime are not. Try the product,… read more but try it in orange.
I haven't tried it, but I would think they would work fine.
It comes in a long strip that you can cut to fit individually. There is enough to do a dozen arrows.
Dale Karch uses these on his personal arrows and experiences no hindrance to arrow flight as they lay down when in flight.
