Interested in buying some Gold Tip Traditional carbon arrows, but not sure what spine to get? Start with a bare shaft test kit to try out the different spines available before buying a full pack in just one spine. We recommend also buying a Field Point Test Kit so you can experiment with different point weights to tune an arrow to fly "straight and true" on your bow with your shooting style. ...read more

Best way to find your perfect spine and length
Best suggestion I ever got was to use a arrow test kit. It will save you money in the long run.
I would probably buy this item again
The arrows were very easy to get the correct spine with the addition of the tip package. As I shoot a 54lb recurve and have a 31" draw, the 500, and 600 arrows were really under spined and would have really had a quicker set up with two each of the 400 and 340.
Sweet as bro!
Helps me a lot tuning my bow or should I say arrow...worth the money...I got the point test kit as well and now confident in choosing the right arrow spine and weigh setup for my bow...great way to get the best results fast and at a low cost...very happy with it ....thank you...I liv in China and delivery was fast and efficient...
The part# is cut6x you can select the length and add it to your cart.
Our Traditional Only Test Kit (Kit B) would be perfect for you. This is item 6780X.
This kit comes with a 340 spined shaft in it. I ended up messing up the shafts in my kit by cutting them too short during the testing phase, but it was ok because I found out what shaft I needed and was able to go to a local archery shop and buy a couple of those specific shafts and continue setting up my bow that way. If you can't find a kit with a 300 shaft just buy one at a local shop.
The 500, 400, and 340 will all be 32 inches. The 600 will be 30 inches.
If you are just trying to figure out what point weight to shoot then you would have them cut. But if you are trying to figure out what spine and length works with a set field point weight then you would want to start off full length.
Yes most definitely cut the arrows to your length to get an accurate feel for what tip weight works best for you.
Unless you have great form bare shaft tuning is tough to obtain consistent readings. I'm assuming you are right handed so you could buy a test kit and get a basic idea as to which spine(s) are going to be weak (nock left) and make a determination. As to whether full length or cut, that's up to you. You indicate that you shoot 29.5 but is that your draw or your typical arrow length you prefer? Do you prefer your arrows close to the rest or a certain length beyond? If you are basically starting out I think 3Rivers could get you close with the spine for your bow and once you add some feathers should work out.
I would recommend tuning the exact same brand and model arrow for consistent results
I would just get the Gold Tip test kit if those are the arrows you plan to use.
Since you eventually intend on buying a set of Goldtip shafts I would buy the appropriate Goldtip test kit. By doing this you eliminate any differences in the shafts that may exist between the two brands.
The 400 is 32 inches long.
400 spine is 32 inches uncut. The 500 spine is 32 inches also. 600 is 30 inches.
32 inches
Yes it will have the spine printed on each shaft.
Sent from my U.S.Cellular© Smartphone Yes they do.
Yes, the spine number is written on the bare shaft arrows.
Yes the spine is written in the shaft. Zach Stokes
Yes, these are simply gold tip arrows taken from package of different spines to make a test kit. Gold tip clearly display the deflection for spine a bit under the crown where the branding is. You won't be able to mistake the spine of any one shaft. Recommend buying four test kits, fletch two keep two bare shaft.
Yes.
These come as bare shafts
No. These are bare shafts. Bryan Black
No fetching, they are bare shafts. Get Outlook for Android
No, it's a kit for testing bareshaft flight of different spine arrows, so they come bare, no fletchings.
No they do not, but the purpose of the test is to see which bareshaft your bow likes. If you add fletching they all will fly about the same. Defeats the purpose of buying a test kit. Also buy the tip kit and you will have everything you need to find the bareshaft that your bow likes best. Sent from my iPhone
They do not come fletched. Without feathers is the best way to tell if your spine is correct.
No they do not.
You can give us a call at 260-587-9501 or you can leave a comment on the order to have us cut and mount the inserts
Hello, You will need to contact one of their Tech support people and supply them with the necessary information, i.e. draw length, wanting inserts installed, and they can help you out. If you are within driving distance, Saturday is a great day to stop in and see them. Mike Date: Saturday, November 18, 2017 at 10:28 AM
5/16 is the recommend field point size.
