This hot melt adhesive comes to us from Tom Parsons of Kimsha Archery and he stands behind it as the best hot melt point glue. Weighing in at approximately 900 grains, Kimsha Quick-Stick is a great value. ...read more

Best there is
Great product and has never failed me. It's all that I use
Works great
Wanted a glue that I could install and remove easily without damaging the carbon arrow shaft. This meets those requirements!
Yes
Use the glue for my black eagle instinct arrows for gluing outserts. Little.skeptical at first. But works well. Easy to remove outsert with a little heat. Shot 200 arrows into stumps using this glue without a problem
Works well for me
I have used Tom's glue for a few years now. Started with wood, but now I have used it for aluminum and carbon inserts as well. As with any adhesive, start with a clean, dry surface. For removing inserts from carbon, screw in a field point and heat the field point to soften the glue. Great product from a great guy.
Best glue out there!
Best glue for inserts
Great glue no problems so far
Very easy to use
Stick Point Glue
I have been using this for years on all types of arrows i.e.. carbons, aluminums and wood. I have even used it on fishing rods. I use it to put the inserts in the arrows instead of crazy glue. I have never had a problem with it. It doesn't take but a dab to put a point or insert in an arrow. If you use to much, it does come off the outside of the arrow. It is the best on the market.
Excellent glue
This glue is easy to melt and stays pliable unlike some of the other stick glues.
It is as advertised.....best going !
Stickbow hunter & arrowsmith for 25 years. Usually don't write reviews, but felt compelled. Anyone who has had any problems with this material didn't clean surfaces with denatured alcohol. It's a good product.Try it and you'll see. It's not like you have to get a home equity loan to buy a stick. Happy hunting.
It can be but I prefer epoxy.
We use an alcohol burner to soften and melt the block then smear the taper in the hot glue. It sets pretty quick.
I generrally use a small tea candle to heat the stick untill soft enough to spread on the tapered arrow shaft. Ive also used a wood stove and campfire, any heat source works. On e the glue is on the shaft slide your point on and press the tip firmly on a block of wood, table, work bench ect until the glue sets. Approx 90 sec. You can reheat the point and press again if it set up before it seated all the way or the point slid in a way you diddnt like ect. Trim any glue that squeezed out with a knife. Also if a shaft breaks you can heat the point to soften the glue and reclaim the point.
You have about 5-10 seconds before it starts to set up.
I generally screw a field point into the insert to hold it with pliers, then heat the insert with an alcohol burner or propane torch just enough to get it fairly hot and rub it on the glue chunk until it coats the insert surfaces then push the insert in the shaft. I have seen others heat the glue and that works also. Hope this helps. John
I just set a propane torch on my work surface, light it, and heat an edge of the glue, then smear the heated edge on the tapered end of the arrow where the arrow head goes, put the arrowhead on, and that's it. Heat a little more for the next arrow, and so on.
Yes, the Quick Stick Hot Melt can be used for gluing in inserts. Epoxy would be a stronger hold, but you would be able to remove inserts much easier using the Quick Stick Hot Melt.
Yes, Kimshaw glue with work, but it is not recommended for carbon arrows. A epoxy would have a stronger hold. For carbon arrow tuning I would use Bohning Cool Flex. http://www.3riversarchery.com/product.asp?i=4191-01
It weighs out at approximately 900 grains I do not know the exact dimensions of it though.
I have not tested it, but I see no reason as to why you could not use it with the glue pot. It is similar to the Hot melt that we recommend. I can not guarantee it though, but it should work.
The Kimsha Quick Stick glue melts when using just about any consistent heat source. I use a propane torch on a low heat to soften the glue enough to wipe on a taper and then heat the back of the arrow point before putting on the taper to smooth out the Kimsha Quick Stick glue. You can use a lighter in a pinch though.
