Sharpened my broad heads to shaving sharp with ease

Mediocre

It's OK but don't expect miracles. I can still do quite a bit better with a good file and good finishing stones, then stropping. Frankly - I'm disappointed. I watched many videos and tried all methods but reaching shaving sharp is not realistic. Good concept but poor reality. It sits on my cupboard, looking pretty.

I have recommended this product to others.

I use this to resharpen my 4 blade Magnus Stinger 125 gn broadheads. I am very pleased with the results and the ease of use.

Anyone who shoots a single or double bevel broadhead needs one of these!! After edge/angle is established touch up is a snap. When you check the broadhead after useing this it looks like it was done on a machine! Best thing I've ever done for bow hunting , awesome product!!

Great Sharpener

Awesome sharpener! This sharpener is very easy to assemble, set up and use. Produces high quality, very sharp edge with very little effort. Sharpener appears to be well made out of quality material and should last forever. Would highly recommend!

I thought my sharpening skills were decent but i just got this tool and i sharpened up my bear razorheads using a 12" file than a fine diamond stone than a leather strop and let me tell you. UNVBELIEVABLE.. took about 5 minuntes and my heads were so sharp i shaved almost all my hair off my arms and my wife called me nutz but i was pumped up. Can not wait to shoot a deer in october read more with my heads this sharp. if your looking for a great easy to use tool try this out.

Works Ok

Used this a lot in since I got it. It sharpens well for the most part. Used with single bevel No Mercy broadheads and it took a long time because it did not match the bevel. It does not match all bevels. It is a good idea for guys like me who are not good at sharpening.

This device works! There are other clamping devices that provide a constant angle for sharpening. What sets this one apart is the roller and the swiveling head. The roller helps prevent wear on the device as it is moved over the stone. The swiveling head helps ensure that the broadhead (or whatever is being sharpened) is kept at a constant angle along its length. No matter read more how skilled one gets at sharpening freehand, keeping a truly constant angle is best done with a mechanical device. It is the constant angle that allows one to attain absolute razor-like sharpness. Also, this device is simple, well-made, and not gimmicky. I have been using this to sharpen single bevel broadheads. I use a 10" very coarse diamond bench stone to reset the bevel and shape the edge. I then use progressively finer stones to hone the blade, finishing with a steel and leather strop, to razor sharpness. This device is the easiest and best I have used to maintain a constant angle for superior sharpness.

Will this work with broadheads with a "convex" outline to the edge (such as the Ace Standard)? And will it also work with broadheads with a "concave" outline, such as the Hill broadheads?

It may not work as well on a concave style but convex work really well

I know it would work very well on a convex Brodhead; I think it 7 years ago

I know it would work very well on a convex Brodhead; I think it would be not as effective on a concave Brodhead. The outward radius of a convex broadhead is easy to manipulate on the KME sharpener as you can get good edge to plane contact - much the same way you sharpen any knife with some convex curvature on a flat stone. You're best bet on a concave-style broadhead is hand sharpening of some sort. Scott McKee in Oklahoma. Sent from my iPhone

Has anyone tried to sharpen the Zwickey No Mercy broadheads with this? I have been trying to two days and have had no luck. I think it should work, but I am not getting an edge of any kind.

It should work great for sharpening these broadheads. Although i 10 years ago

It should work great for sharpening these broadheads. Although it's a little different if you are using single bevel vs double bevel. Using double bevel broadheads, I count the number of strokes, like 10 on one side, flip it, then 10 on the other side. I keep counting down so I will be doing 5 on one side flip it and 5 on the other side. Then four on each side, three on each side, etc. Then I switch stones and start the process over. With single bevel broadheads, start with the bevel side. Using the coarse stone, continue sharpening until you get a burr. Then continue with the finer stones. Finally, flip the broadhead and using very light pressure, remove the burr. Finish with a few alternating passes on each side of the blade using all forward strokes.

The KME is just for 2 blade broadheads or 4 blade with removable bleeder blades. A couple sharpeners that work really well on the Woodsman Broadheads are the 3Blade CC Sharpener, the JewelStik Stubby and a 12 inch bastard file.
