Good if your existing bag is not too badly damaged

I had high hopes for this replacement cover in extending the life of my bag targets. However, my bag that I intended to use this with had two issues which precluded replacement according to the directions of just placing the old target inside the new cover. 1. I hang my bag targets and they stretch considerably over time. My old target had sagged several inches longer and would read more not fit into the new cover, even after a serious foot stomping to try to get it back into shape. Also, the core area was shot out including the inside filler material, which had been displaced into the old bag. I was unable to redistribute that with aforementioned stomping, necessitating openning up the bag to transfer the batting material manually to the new bag. This was a messy and difficult operation, as my bags live outside and once wet those never dry. I finally prevailed getting most of the material into the new bag and packed reasonalby well but I was tempted along the way to chunk the whole thing in the trash. Next time I'll simply buy a whole new target.

Money well spent.

I give this 4 out of 5 stars only because durability is yet to be determined. Other than that it's great and I highly recommend it.

This cover is like getting a new bag target for a fraction of the cost! I used the original for several years, and it appears this cover will give me more years of efficient use.

Nice economical way to extend the life of your target

Not just a replacement cover

Needed a backyard target to improve my form. Wanted to stop fast arrows from a compound as well as traditional bows. The replacement cover comes with a black liner bag that makes it easier to slide the old target in. I stuffed the black bag with packing foam and plastic grocery bags, stiffened the sides with a worn out broadhead target cut to size, then put the cover over. Target read more can be roped and staked or hung from the grommets at the top. Stops arrow well. Seems to self heal to a degree, but the graphics get worn. Several hundred stikes and is holding up. Its been hit with traditional equipment, compounds, and 20" crossbow bolts. The recycle stuffing has only passed 2 bolts to the vanes. This works well if you want to stuff your own.

Economical way to refresh your target

These covers are a great way to increase the life of your target economically. I think I have replaced mine three or four times now. It sure beats paying full price for a new target. Once the new cover is in place the target is truly as good as new.

How is this cover installed? I assume that the cover has an opening of some type, and so, how is the cover closed? Is it stapled closed, velcro closure, a zipper? I have a target bag from a different manufacturer, and I am trying to figure out how I

You put your old target in the opening of the cover and pull it over it. Then you zip tie the opening closed

The whole bottom of the target cover is open like a bag. The co 11 years ago

The whole bottom of the target cover is open like a bag. The cover comes with a supply of zip ties like those used to ties wires together. Once stuffed, the bag ends are overlapped like wrapping a present or rolled and secured with the zip ties. I found that duck or gorilla tape across the bottom also works pretty well even if you suspend the target from its grommets. The target cover actually comes with an outer cover as pictured and an inner cover. The inner cover is a black polymer bag that makes sliding the outer cover on a little easier. It helps to offset the bag openings so that the inner and outer bags cannot open at the same place. Edward Bronner

do you have a replacement bag/cover for the morrell bone collector series? bag size 27x30 approx.

Unfortunately we do not have those covers. 5 years ago

Unfortunately we do not have those covers.

Over the years I've repeatedly used the replacement cover below 5 years ago

Over the years I've repeatedly used the replacement cover below on my Morrell Yellow Jacket (approx. 23 x 26 x 8 inches), but no way it would fit a 27" wide Bone Collector. Steve.
