Marginal, at best
As mentioned elsewhere, this cap does not screw down tightly on to the dip tube. This results in having to hold the cap and gasket in place while withdrawing shafts from the gasket lacquer tube. I took a spare cap (which fits the tube), and drilled a 2" hole in it, and it fits very well on the tube, and holds the rubber gasket in place. This eliminates all the hassle of using this… read more substandardproduct.
Good

Could be better
the screw on cap does not tighten properly and if you try to tighten it, it will pop off. best to screw it on lightly. the gaskets wear pretty easily, I did 4 coats each for a dozen shafts (23/64 POC) and wear began to show after 4 shafts, splits in the gasket hole appeared after 8 shafts and by the time I had finished the dozen the gasket hole was completely unusable. best to buy… read more spares. all in all with those points taken into consideration its not too bad. fast drying time between coats and its relatively cheap.
Not for me
it might work for you but It did not work the right way for me. nice idea but I could have used a paint brush and had better result.
Very easy and fun to use
Bought this for a workshop. Everyone enjoyed using it. It is a great tool for staining. Leaving a nice even coat.
This is a 25 cent canning jar lid..
Okay I guess I'd be okay with buying two replacement gaskets for $[$] if I liked to dip my arrows but the bottom line is that the special lid(for and extra $[$]) is nothing more than you're basic, run-of-the-mill canning jar lid! What a rip-off! You can buy a dozen of those at the hardware store with the lid centers for $[$] and they're MUCH better quality than this one. Bottom… read more line is dippers don't work well at all. I'll be sending this over-priced junk back.
Works as advertised
Works very well with the Big Dipper. Easy to use and clean afterwards
Great product
this product makes sealing your arrows as easy as can be just make sure you get the dipper cap and rubber to go,with it otherwise its a little messy but nothing I was concerned with.
A must have for dipping
I purchased this along with a dipping tube and Gasket Lacquer. This is a must have, it made the process so easy and fast. The design really makes for nice, consistent coats of lacquer.
Goog product
A very useful products but I don't recommend to use it with the 3R water based sealer: it will take too much coats to cover well the shafts

When you say "Lower Section" are you referring to the dipping tube? The dipping tube does not come with with this kit, but are sold separately. The bottom portion of the dipping tube is approximately 1".
Yes you can crown dip with the dipper cap and the little dipper. Fletch lac and super coat works better dipping them without a gasket.
You can, but the better product to do caps with for aluminum and carbon would be the Bohning Fletch Lac Products and the Little Dipper. http://www.3riversarchery.com/Arrow+Building+Paint+Sealer+Stain+Bohning+Fletch-Lac+Gloss+Finish_c52_s223_p240_i4104X_product.html http://www.3riversarchery.com/Arrow+Building+Paint+Sealer+Stain+Fletch-Lac+Thinner_c52_s223_p240_i4116X_product.html http://www.3riversarchery.com/Arrow+Building+Tools+Dip+Tubes+Pro-Dipper_c52_s8_p29_i5110X_product.html
With stain you wipe on or brush on, you would not dip it, because it would absorb to much of the stain and take to long to dry. I do leave the 3Rivers Gasket Lacquer in the big dip tube, but put a psc of Saran Wrap over the top and then put back on the cap for storage.
Yes just clean it out.
You can reuse it, but it must be cleaned with thew properly product, depending by the material you used
Hold the point end (which will be cut or tapered) that way once you cut your shaft to lenght you will cut the part that wasn't coated. You could also stick a thumb tack on the end and hold on to that.
The speed coat dipper cap kit includes one cap and two gaskets. The dipper (Big or Little) is sold separately.
The gasket of the Speed Coat Arrow Dipping System can accommodate all size shafting as the holes are much smaller than shaft diameters. A shaft as small as 1/4" will work with the gaskets.
