Simple design and great product.
Thouroghly impressed with the converta blunt. Shoots good and hits hard. It keeps your arrow from dissapearing under the grass. Adds weight to front of arrow. I could go on and on. I like em!
Love the Forge Converta Blunt!
This makes a field point into a fine small game point. I have been using them for stumping and haven't lost an arrow since I started using them. The design prevents the arrow from burrowing up under the grass. Money well spent.
Perfect blunt
Super easy way to use field points for small game hunting or stump shooting. The edges catch on grass to prevent arrow losses and hammer small game equally well. They are also more economical than many similar points. The only thing I could say would be they need a 50 grain version and even a 100 grain version as well to more easily match normal point weights. Even so they are still… read more a 5 star product.
Great stump shooting point
I have used this head on several roving/stump shooting outings so far. It seems to fly as well as a field point and is surprisingly durable. It prevents arrows burying under grass almost as well as a Judo point. This head is very similar to "The Hammer" head, but is actually better because the extended field point tip makes it fit more securely in the bow quiver hood. I intend… read more to carry at least one arrow fitted with this head for the upcoming elk season for shooting at grouse and keeping my eye sharp with occasional stump shooting practice.
These blunt converter suit me very well
Very good to convert a field in blunt
Converta Blunt
I picked up some of these to try out. I've tried all kinds of other blunts, these are really easy to use and shoot great. Awesome product.
Amazing All
The only negative to these is that you can't fit a heavy 11/32'' field point in them. I had to buy a 250gr, and grind it down to a 225gr so these points would fit, and be the correct weight. Now for the positives. These are a super versatile point. While they excel at bringing down small game, they also work very well for shooting at pumpkins, pop cans, rotten hay bales, old… read more soccerballs, and even stumps. The only issue with the stumping is that they can stick into hard stumps, but not as much as a regular field point. They are dead silent in flight, no whistling or anything. They also fly perfectly, assuming you set them up to the same weight as your field points. The edges of the blunt are quite sharp out of the package, but one could easily sharpen them even more if they so wished. The blunts hold their edges well, even after being shot into wood, dirt, tin cans, etc. Now about their performance on small game. I used a roadkill muskrat as a testing medium for these and the Adders, which are very similar. These penetrated far better, giving me a pass thru. They made an entry hole the exact shape of the profile of the point, and a big exit. I was initially concerned about the forward angled claws impeding performance, but I was pleasantly surprised that they did not. An added bonus of the forward angles are that the point grabs onto things very easily. It skips more than a snaro or judo, but less than a steel blunt or field point. The arms also grab a lot of stuff inside a critter. It made a real mess out of the muskrat, shattering ribs and tearing the vitals to shreds. I am extremely confident that I would have no trouble taking down anything up to a coon sized animal with these. To sum everything up, great point, really durable and versatile and deadly, but needs to come in a bigger size to accommodate bigger field points. A 100gr 11/32'' size as well as the 5/16'' 75gr size would be perfect.
Great Small Game Head
This a great product and way cheaper than buying the expensive points. You can just change any 5/16 field tip and change the weight of your tip.
The Forge Converta Blunt
I have taken this product in the field and taken hundreds of shots with it. The edges are still sharp. Best thing to carry in the pack next to a spare string. Great product.
I think both points would work well for pheasant.
Converts any 5/16" field point into a deadly small game blunt 75 grains
They are 75 grains each and work, beat with 9/16th heads. They make a nice compact and steong head.
These are not compatible with the judo points. They work well with the field points.
Not with judos but with fine with any weight field point. Thanks,Zak Mercer
Yes
Yes these do help out a lot to keep your arrows from going under grass.
Absolutely. I shoot these in my backyard every day, and have never lost one. They don't flip the arrow up like a judo, but they don't burrow like a field point either. You will struggle to lose these.
The converta will only take the standard 5/16 weights and 9/32 points. The larger 5/16 heavyweight points will not seat properly into the converta blunt.
These blunts can be used with any 5/16 screw in head a 11/32 dia point will not fit at this time. You can use this blunt with field points, flat head blunts and you can use the Barta Claw behind it. This head has many uses.
