Also great for adding weight and length!
I wanted to get into using wood shafts to use with my selfbow. I ordered an arrow shaft test kit, but I wasn't really looking forward to gluing on points, then trying to remove them. So, when I saw these, I thought I would give them a shot. Not only do they work like a charm (allowing to swap out different point weights and adding the ability to add threaded weights), but they… read more also add an extra inch to the arrow. This is a big plus for me, as I have a 30.5" draw length and you run out of arrow pretty quickly if you need to shorten it. Now, I can take off a 1/2"-1", toss on this adapter, and still have enough arrow leftover so I don't have to worry about a broadhead riding over my hand (especially since I'm shooting off of my hand!) and get the arrow dialed into perfection (very important when there's no cut-in shelf). The only thing I would let people know to be mindful of is to put in the field points and broadheads you plan on using into the adapter and seeing how they fit on the tapered shaft. I have field points that wouldn't thread in all the way if I had just glued the adapter onto the shaft without checking (they must have a slightly longer threaded portion, as I tried my broadheads and they fit perfectly). The fix was easy: I just shaved off 1/8" from the arrow shaft (after it was tapered) and everything fit nicely.
Saved some old arrows
Bought these to convert some old arrows that were given to me but were short. By adding the tips I was able to make them long enough and also adjust the tips to fly off my bow straighter. Gave me an extra set of wood arrows that I would not have been able to use otherwise.
I would buy this product again
Great if you like to easily interchange points. Fits well on arrow shaft, however depth not deep enough to fit tapered end. Need to cut off shaft about 1/8" after for a snug fit and allow screwed end of field point to be fully seated. I also paint it black to reduce glare.
They won't stick
They arrived very quickly and were accurate as far as the description goes. However I have been un able to get them to attach to my cedar arrows. I have tried to date five different types of glues. The concept is awesome, the execution needs a little work.
Great Adapter To Switch Off Points
These adapters easily let me convert my wooden arrows between rubber blunts as well as field points.
Nice items, will work well. Fast delivery !
These will used to build a couple dozen wood arrows. I needed an adapter in order to quickly change from practice to broadhead. Glue them to your tapered end, after that your ends change by screwing on or off for correct use (practice or broadhead).
Makes wood arrows as versital as aluminum or carbon
Neat product, allows you to change from field points to broad heads,to blunts With no time or trouble. Also great for trying out different weight points when tuning arrows.
Glue on adapters
Easy to use and worked well.
You will just go off of the 145 gr. 5 grains is not going to make that much difference. I would recommend the 60-65.
It would be a 5/16" point
Unfortunately we no longer have the 5/16 size. You would have to go with the TopHat® Woodscrew Adapters (item number 0932X)
Yes you would be able to do that.
The premium is going to be stronger and straighter than the regular adapters.
Adding these to an arrow will weaken the spine slightly
The wood screw adapters use the standard 8-32 threads.
Yes they can be put on a 23\64 shaft they add about an 1 1\2 to the arrow. You taper the shaft just like you are putting on a field point.
... These 'tips' add about 1 half to 1 inch of length to the shaft, depending on how long you choose to cut you shaft for finish. i shoot a 27 and a half inch shaft and if i'm using these tips i cut my shaft tp 27 inches. Personal preference.
If you do a real good job of tapering I believe it would work on 11/32 and would maybe add 1 inch.
Yes, they fit 23/64. Furrel ends about 1/2 way into adapter. You gain about 3/4 inch. Sent from my iPhone
We are working with our vendor on getting them produced, I am afraid I do not have a expected date as to when they will be made and available. As it has been so long, the standard 5/16" and the 11/32" are being taken off our Web site and are already out of our 2012 Master catalog. As soon as we have them in stock they will be turned back online and put into the next printed catalog. Sorry about the weight, we have been working on it though for quite some time now.
I would recommend that you attach them like any other glue on point . The hot melt and Ferr-L-Tite work great.
