Elk Medicine
Woodyweights are a great product! After 20+ years away from bowhunting, I got back into it this year. In so doing, I discovered Dr. Ashby's research and decided I would try Extreme Front of Center arrows with single-bevel broadheads. 150-grain Woodyweights with 130-grain broadheads on 30" cedar arrows proved a perfect combination from my 45# longbow. The heavy arrow with Extreme… read more Front of Center gave me 13" of penetration. The bull elk I killed (a 4 X 4 -- my first archery elk) walked 200-yards and fell over dead. You do want to take care to spin test your arrows -- with the Woodyweight and broadhead, you could easily get misalignment.

Great Product....great performance
These weighted tips solve the problem of getting a higher Front of Center percentage on wood shafts. You have to get used to the look of them, but if you want/need to get above 190 grain glue on tips these are your answer.
Bad idea on my part
bad for me, but they done their job. I broke two arrows to figure out it was too much. Very easy to use but you should know what your doing.
I will cut them just like I do normally then just stack the heads on from there.
You would really have to test to see what you can get away with your set up. I would say adding anything over 50 grains might weaken the spine too much for your set up. I would recommend starting with the Woodweight Test Kit http://www.3riversarchery.com/product.asp?i=4945-8 to see how your bows tune to the arrows with the extra weight.
They are sold in a 6- pack.
I would not recommend shooting these by themselves. I would recommend an 11/32" field point or broadhead.

Bohning hot glue. Using a propane torch (or candle if you have lots of time) heat the end of the glue stick until the surface area is melted like thick syrup. Quickly wipe some glue onto the tapered ends of arrow shaft and woody weight. Fit woody weight onto arrow taper and begin heating with torch. Heating the woody weight will melt the glue on the wood arrow shaft. (tilt arrow point upright or point will fall off).Once glue is melted enough grasp w.w. with pliers and rotate to coat all tapered areas with glue. Repeat this process to install broadhead. Spin test for alignment. Most likely you'll need to reheat just enough to loosen area that needs adjusted. Sometimes rotating 1/2 turn solves alignment problem.
I used then to get my field points to the same weight as my hunting arrows, I used the same hot melt glue you would use to glue the point to the arrow shaft and have had no trouble with them, not one has ever came apart on me, hope that helps.
Bohning's Ferr-L-Tite hot melt adhesive works great for attaching the woody weight to the arrow and to the point. Sent from my iPad
I use Gorilla glue. - it takes a long time to set but I've never had it fail. Sent from my iPhone
I use Ferr-L-Tite for both the wood to metal and the metal to metal connections. http://www.3riversarchery.com/Bohning+Ferr-L-Tite+Point+Glue_i4191_baseitem.html Chris
I use hot melt on my cedar shafts for attaching woodie weights. Sent from my iPad
I use the same low temperature hot glue I use for attaching the points.
These are sold in 6 packs.
Woody weights are steel I recommend 75 grain
Woody weights are made of metal. Adding these weights reduces dynamic spine of your arrow. I would try the "light" woody weight kit and see which ones (75-125 grains) provide good arrow flight out of your bow.

Wood Weights are made of steel. I've used them for 3 years now and really like them. I'd suggest you use 75 to 100 grains if you want to reduce the spine that little. Best of luck! Don
They are made of carbon steal, they are coated to help prevent corrosion. Not sure what weight point your planning on using these with but my tips are 175 and it reduced mine from 65-70 to 60-65.
They will add about an half inch to the length of a shaft.
The woody weights add about 1 1/4 inches to the arrow shaft when installed on the taper. Sent from my iPhone
The 100 gr woodyweights that I have add about 9/16" to the length.
About a quarter inch for my Zwickey Eskimos.
I have only used the 75gr inserts and they added about 1/4" Sent from my iPad
I have one set with woody weights at 50 grains and one set without, on set with they added 1/4 inch to length. I think length will increase with heavier weights. Hope this helps.
Approx .5” on my arrows

These will fit on a 5/16ths tapper of a shaft, but they will be a little bigger in diameter and not have that nice clean fit like the do on a 11/32 shaft.
