Thumbtab does not protect my thumb
I'm trying to learn to a thumb tab. This one doesn't protect my thumb.
A little inadequate thumb protection
ended up attaching another thicker piece of leather to it. works alot better now.
Excellent quality
This is an excellent thumb ring. The ceramic and bone rings are all way too big for my small thumb. This one fits perfectly and works great.
Conflicted
It takes time and practice to figure out thumb draw. This leather thumb tab is great, but be aware it will hurt if not used correctly, or on a stronger draw bow. It might be a bit to thin, but it was easy to adjust and does provide some protection.
This is good for practice
This thumbring is good for practice, but I think I would rather buy, or make a horn thumbring for competition shoots. Leather thumbring took a little time to get used to shooting but it worked well.
Too small
Packed with Quiver in box mostly filled with paper
Worth a try.
I bought this to just try using a thumb release. Worked better after I backed it with some plastic milk carton. To me the leather seemed to thin, but in all fairness I do the same to bow gloves. I do like it for bow fishing, once I got the hang of it.
Decent and durable
This is a great alternative for people who wish to try out thumbring shooting, but do not have time or the means to be fitted with a proper thumbring. The leather has enough thickness to last for some time, and the the adjustable strap allows for fitting to almost all sizes of thumbs. Unlike the solid thumbrings made of horn/pvc/plastic/stone, the leather may not relieve as much… read more pressure on your thumb, but you will appreciate that there is a more "tactile" feel when you are performing the thumbring draw style of archery. I picked this up in addition to the other thumbrings they sell here so that others may be able to try my bow even if they do not have a thumbring.
Made for smaller thumbs
While the strap is adjustable and fit my thumb fine, on last hole, the pad itself is too small. The string dug into the sides of my thumb when at full draw. However, leather was thick enough to protect thumb where it covered. Think product is good for smaller thumbs.
Leather thumb ring
Used as first step from three finger release to the Mongolian thumb ring release. Works well.
This thumb ring will expand to 9cm.
no their thumb rings would be to small. Joe * would also think twice about the horse bow. I purchased one. and the problem that i found was string slap against the wood tips on the ends of the bow. also you need two people to string and unstring the bow. so if you leave the bow strung for a period of time you will get string stretch which weakens your draw strength. i hope this helps. p.s. there is no arrow rest!!!!!*
My own thumb measures 77 mm. I now use a Turkish style ring that is 20mm x 23mm. I don.t know where the leather one is but I remember there being plenty of holes on the strap that were way too big for me. It should work for you.
