The Micro-Diameter size (.165" inside diameter) of the Instinct® helps to offset the off-center design found in many longbows and recurves. It also gives you increased penetration and has less wind drift in flight.

Every pack is spine matched ±.010" and weight matched to ±1 grains per 6-pack for consistent shooting. The straightness is checked on the full length of the extra long 34" shaft. Straightness ± .005". Recommended field point: 5/16".

Plus, they've added their stainless steel outserts, adding 100 grains to the FOC (front of center) weight of the Instinct®. Please note, the Instinct® outsert adds ¾" to the overall length of the shaft. For example, if you order 30" shafts, they will be cut to 30" and the finished shaft with outsert installed will be 30¾" from the valley of the nock to the end of the insert.

Each carbon arrow shaft is inspected for quality, and features a Duracoat wood grain overlay finish to allow for easy refletching and cresting.

Available in (spine/GPI): 600/7.9, 500/8.8, 400/9.4, or 350/10.6. Please specify.

Please Note: the Instinct® outsert adds 3/4" to the overall length of the shaft. For example, if you order 30" shafts, they will be cut to 30" and the finished shaft with outsert installed will be 30 ¾" from the valley of the nock to the end of the insert.

To start, I only gave 4 stars instead of 5 for the fact that I have not shot these arrows yet. However, I was very impressed on the straightness of the arrows and fitment of the inserts. Out of the 6 arrows I received, only 1 had a little wobble on a spin tester. That being said, these shafts are the full 34" length. I have no doubt that the wobble will be fixed/reduced with some… read more arrow trimming during the tuning process.

I bought these as a mor affordable alternative to gold tip. I really wanted to like them,as it was possible to attain super high F.O.C. Unfortunately the design is severely flawed. The use of an "outsert" only, creates a sheering point. If you go with any point weight above 175 grains, you'll start breaking the arrows off directly behind the heavy outsert. Simply using an insert,… read more or some type of footing would solve this issue, but these micro-diameter shafts are difficult to find parts like that for. Black eagle should seriously think about an internal footing or an insert for these arrows.

Bought these to replace my badly abused set of Easton axis trad arrows with a 400 spine. Purchased the same spine and ended up with the same shaft length as I was using with the Easton arrows. The shaft length was determined by shooting a bare shaft and shortened as needed to get perfect flight. I am impressed with the quality of these shafts and I really like the outsert. Spin… read more testing the shafts with broadheads on them is reassuring, the spin really true. Accuracy is excellent, if they hold up to the abuse of random stump shooting they will be awesome.

First micros I have ever used. found these for a good price and they also come with the outserts! Only negative is I liked to shoot 4 fletch and these are a lil to skinny but fly like darts regardless

These are the first micro arrows I have ever purchased and absolutely love them. Only reason I only gave 4 stars is because I have only had the afew weeks and don't know yet if they are built to last. A great deal compared to other micros plus these come with the tapered steel outsert making the arrow like a dart.

Is there an outsert that allows the use of 9/32" points? Maybe another manufacturer?

Not that I'm aware of. They all taper up to a 5/16" point, as the OD of the shaft is 9/32", so it needs to be bigger than that to have enough wall strength for durability.

When you (three rivers archery) install the outserts, do you guys sand down the end (square the ends) before installing the outsert onto the arrow?

We use a 2 part epoxy on these style of outserts to ensure it is 6 years ago

I would recommend doing that on any carbon shaft with an outset 6 years ago

I would recommend doing that on any carbon shaft with an outset or half out type of insert. Clean the shaft well as well as the outsert and apply the glue to the shaft and install. Depending on the glue set time, spin the shaft to be sure how true it is and turn the outset a little and re-check of needed.

If you are talking about the point end the arrows use a shaft size specific outsert not an insert and I think they are 100 grains.  You would need to change the FOC by changing the point or broad head weight.  They are easy to tune for traditional bows but will not take any type of commercial insert due to small diameter.
