Great youth starter bows
Got these for my two sons an they never want to stop shooting them, easy draw makes these great for a 9 an 7 year old
4-5 years later, still loving this bow.
I bought the Crusader several years ago as a present to and from myself for my 19th birthday. As someone who has always been interested in archery but never had the money to commit, I finally decided to look for a cheaper alternative to some of the "real" bows I wanted. As I was (and still am) barely 5'4", maybe 110lbs sopping wet, and at the time relatively new to archery, I was… read more looking for a bow with a lower poundage and draw, so a youthbow like this seemed perfect. Never would I have thought it would hold up still to my expectations several years later. I have shot it rain or shine, on stuffed boxes and hay bales, through snow. It's as accurate as you are, easy to handle, durable, and will last perfectly even if you don't treat it so kindly sometimes. A sturdy bow that's dependable and perfect for beginners, kids and even small adults like me. I would recommend this bow without a second thought.
This bow is perfect!
I ordered this bow for my grandson and he says "it's terrific" He loves the size and how well it handles. Uses it with his older sister and they practice at the range. Even thou he is learning how to use it, he is showing enthusium. The size is perfect for his age and the arrows are jus the right size, enabling him to find it all fun while learning.
Perfect for my kids
I bought this for my 11 and 8-year old kids who have taken archery lessons at camp for 2 years. We looked in stores but couldn't find anything close to appropriate nor anything like they used at camp. I felt I was taking a chance since I don't know much about this but I am so happy with it now that the kids have been using it for a few weeks. They are not particularly strong or… read more tall so it's probably not appropriate for bigger kids at this age but for mine it's perfect. They've taught numerous friends how to use it so it's gotten lots of use. It's been a nice activity to get them outside doing something and working on improving a skill.
Nice Bow
Good beginner bow. Its very sturdy. It is a little big for our 8-year old daughter, but anything smaller would have been too small. We set it up with No-Glove Finger Savers and got some 5/16 wood youth arrows. Its too long for her to string & unstring by herself, so we just leave it strung most of the time. The only real negative is that the fiberglass limbs do vibrate… read more quite a bit. I shot the bow after my daughter complained about hand shock, and I was surprised at the amount of vibration from such a light bow. I'll experiment with the string length and probably also put some silencers on it to see if that helps.
Best bow ever
I bought this when i was 12 years old and i loved and so did my friends. we would be outside forever until our parents made us come in.
I would recommend the limbsaver recurve stringer.
I love the Thunderhorn Super stringer. I bought it for my bow and my kids (ages 7, 9, and 15) use it for their bows, it will also last a long time and be able to be used with larger bows as the child gets older. Plus its really cool looking.
Thunderhorn
Yes those arrows are correctly spined for that bow.
Medium Size should work with this bow.
51'' string
No, this bow only comes in green.
Recommended for ages 7-10
That will be no problem, because you hold the bow in the center, the top half will be up in the air. I shoot a 66'' bow and am 72''
The Crusader is 54" long. You will need a 50" string. http://www.3riversarchery.com/product.asp?i=4243X
This will shoot around 150 feet.
It is entirely made out of plastic.
