Everything is pretty good to excellent about this arm guard, except that the string still whacked my son's arm. I think it's just a matter of him getting used to the large size compared to his arm.

You would want to go with a larger armguard for a teenager. This one is made for a 4 to 5 year old. If you have a good leather armguard, it can last for years.
