I hunt pigs and Axis deer with them.
My new "go to arrow".
Love the way they hit hard and penetrate. Consistent spine. I would give them 5 stars but I bent one first thing, I missed a 3-D target and hit a stump so it WAS my fault. Spendy, but I believe you get what you pay for.
Will loose straightness after heavy use
Everything said about this arrow's awesomeness is true. My favourite arrows for over 5 years, I ' ve been through many dozen. However, the carbon inside aluminium outside construction that makes them great, is also their weakness. They will bend after repeated use, and cannot be straighteded. A hit in wood, or pulling them out of a 3D target or just shooting them often enough will… read more create a permanent bend. Often you can't see it without spinning them, but accuracy is gone.
My go to arrow.
My favorite arrow. I just received more of these in the mail today and I'm as excited today as the last time I got arrows! Can't find a negative thing about them but I don't shoot stump and I saw a negative about these with stump shooting. I'll have to try it! Evan
Best arrows money can buy
Great penetration, extremely accurate. As a matter of fact, while practicing, I have to aim offset a little after the first shot in order to avoid Robin Hooding the first arrow. Consistent grouping and great impac I shoot and hunt with a Hoyt Carbon Element, 68lbs, 30" draw using 29 5/8 shafts, 320fps and deadly accurate at 85 yards so far, sorry I didn't try past 85. At 60 yards,… read more during practice, I grazed one arrow by accident. Although they are a wee bit pricey to be used as everyday arrows, as the old saying goes, you get what you pay for. I'd rather pay the price and practice and hunt with the same consistent quality than risk missing due to cheap arrows inconsistencies.
Great Arrows!!!!!!
I was struggling to tune my vintage '63 Bear Kodiak Magnum but with help from the 3 Rivers staff I found the perfect combination. The bow is 52" 50#@28" the 400 FMJ's with a 150 gr point shoots great. I have never shot 3" groups at 30 yards now my custom bow is jealous. Thank you Jason for all your help an order for a full dozen is now on its way.
FMJ All the way!
I've been stuck on standard diameter shafts for almost a decade now so I figured it was time for an upgrade...lemme tell you what you can NOT go wrong with these shafts! If you desire complete pass thrus this is it! At 10.2 gpi whitetail meat can't stop them. The added weight not only upped the kinetic energy but it also quieted my bowstring significantly. One word sums it up niiiiiiiccccceeeee!
Check your inserts!!!
Hard hitting arrows
Great hunting shaft
The fmj dangerous game shafts can be used to make a high foc, awesome hunting arrow, just as tough as they are expensive
A tremendous shaft
Once again, first rate service!!! Thanks guys!
They are the same as the 5mm.
There should be designating information on the shaft like FMJ black diamond dangerous game or just FMJ black diamond both arrows are 5mm but be sure to look at the picture on the 3r website and pick the shaft that matches what you have. I cant think of any arrows tougher than these.
The 400 FMJ is going to be a 5mm shaft. The test kit will be in the 5mm. If the bow is tuned properly then the difference in thicknesses will not make hardly any difference. You would need to paper tune the difference to make sure though.
5mm FMJ 400 spine hits the same as a 6 mm FMJ. No need to retune the bow Gabriel Echavarria
Axis FMJ arrow - 5mminfused axis fmj - 4mmaxis under armor - 6mmaxis fmj -5mmaxis match grade - 5mmaxis fma/c injection -4mmcarbon injection -4mm I shoot a few different types of shafts depending on the type shooting or bow I'm using. My only Easton arrows however are the FMJ Dangerous game (250) which are 4mm and my xx75 2317 camo hunters which are 5mm. Shooting both off the same bow showed no noticeable grouping difference. I would say you'd be fine with a 1mm difference. I'm a finger shooter but even with a dloop you should be fine. If you notice a flight diff at most you would raise or lower your nocking point 1mm. Good Luck! nate
Yes the 5mm will tune differently. You may probably use the 400 spine but definitely paper tune all over again Sent from my iPhone domain
With your draw length and that bow weight I would recommend a 500 spine cut to 29.5 inches with a 145 grain point.
With my 26.5" draw and a 45# longbow, I use a full length 500 spine FMJ with a standard insert and a 125 grain point. This combo spines perfectly for me.... bullet holes when paper tuning. At your draw, you will need to cut the 500 slide arrows shorter or go with a lighter point. If you are going with a really heavy point (200 gr) you may need to go with a heavier spine. I have found tHe 3 Rivers online spine calculator to be very accurate. ....Mark
We follow ATA standard and measure from the valley of the nock to the end of the shaft.

Since they are not prefletched we can use 4, 5, or 5 1/2. with a right or left helical.
5" 3 fletch left twist fletched by 3rivers. Beautiful flight, awesome arrows. B
I shoot them with both a compound and recurve. With the compound, I use 2" Blazer vanes. With the recurve I use 3" feathers. For both I use a Bitzenberger jig with their helical set up. I don't know the angle in degrees, but it is substantial. ....Mark

Yes they will come with the chamfer stone and tool to install the inserts.
The inserts are included, but not installed. If you want the inserts installed, there is a separate charge besides the cost to cut arrows.
The length is measured to the valley of the nock (the area that touches the string).
Best to cut yourself to have them properly tuned unless you've already shot the set up and know that the arrows will fly true Sent from my iPhone | Approve sender | Approve domain
The length is measures from the Nock cut to the front of the arrow. That is where the string is when drawn. The Apple cutter for example is set up for this, but you should always cut at least 1 inch beyond your draw length for Broadheads.Gabriel Sent from my iPhone
Measuring should be from the slot in the knock where the string will sit to the front end of the shaft where the point screws in. Sent from Yahoo Mail for iPhone
It is from the inside of the nock, not the end of the nock

The GPI on the 500 spine is 9.1 and is 30 inches long.
Ex. A 45lbs custom recurve @ 26" draw 600spine Carbon arrows paper tuned with 300 grains up front. 47lbs custom recurve @ 30.5 draw also paper tuned 340spine Carbon arrows with 230grains up front. The Longer the arrow needs to be the stiffer the spine will also need to be. Sent from my iPhone
Depends on draw length Sent from my iPhone
You want the 9/32 weight tubes, there is no other that im aware of.
17/64 will fit, but the only way to add weight to the back is to push the weight through the shaft from the front. I have not seen it done before so I don't know if that's possible. Respectfully Sent, Evan T. Fairbanks
