Easton Beginner Archery Set Reviews

Don't buy it!!

This thing is terrible!!!, if i could give a negative 5 i would. I got this for my 6 year old he does compounds but wanted to do recurve like daddy. Biggest issue is riser by shelf is in the center causing arrows to hit high nock right everytime. Even feather fletch was horrible. The left/right hand thing doesn't work. Beside that it not a bad unit esp for kids where it might get read more dropped or banged around. Regardless of that a bow needs to be somewhat minute of 6 yearold. Called it a loss and ordered a sage junior which is many much bestest compared to the easton.

Horrible set up for kids. Sent mine back.

I bought this for my 9 yr old girl who has out grown her toy bow. The arrows that come with it are the awesome Easton XX75, but way too light in the point, and they kick wildly like a bucking mule. I couldn't even hit the entire target at 10 yrds!I Went back inside and got some safety fiberglass arrows and it shot pretty decent. The bow is ok. Its all plastic but not not too bad read more except the ambidextrous set up of the bow will always make it less accurate than a handed bow with a cut away. Nothing but discouragement here for youngsters wanting to hit the target but cant. Easton is a good company and knows better. The bow draws and shoots ok, but the arrows are no where near tuned for this bow. The quiver is pretty, but thin and cheap. Bottom line is I sent it back and am ordering something else that can be set up to be more accurate without alot of arrow tuning work. Get your kid a good bow and arrow set up if you want them to get excited about hitting the target. You cant do that much with this set up, except change it upon arrival.

Excellent beginner set up

Bought five for the kids and couldn't be happier...

I bought five of these for each of my kids for Christmas this year. Turns out it's a great way to introduce kids to archery. My kids range from 9yrs to 16yrs old and all have used these extensively. Had some initial trouble dialing them in. Once we settling on 8 to 8 1/2" brace height and a fairly standard 1/2" nock height, they started shooting great. The little plastic read more rest seems to wear out fairly quickly. I'd say in less than 500 arrows give or take a couple dozen. 3Rivers has them in stock, so order some with the bows if you expect to shoot a lot. I also have switched to NASP arrows for these. With so many kids shooting so much, the cost of the NASP arrows just makes sense. They're slightly cheaper and, in my opinion, a higher quality arrow. They're also 30" vs the stock 28", so there's a little more safety margin for the taller, older kids.

Not a great bow

We purchased two of these bows for our teen daughters for Christmas and they have been using them for a couple of months. We are pretty dissatisfied with this bow because it shoots both left and right, so the string has to come towards the middle of the riser when released. If it's coming towards the middle of the riser, and the arrow is on the left side of the riser then the arrow read more is coming off at an angle to the left, since they are right handed. They end up having to compensate by turning their hand inward and when they are ready to advance to a better bow, they are going to have difficulty because of this. An experienced archer would be able to compensate with sight pins, but a beginner archer isn't able to do this.

Just what we were looking for

Great first bow for my 8 year old daughter. Plenty of room to grow and learn. The draw weight is just right for her size and most importantly she is having fun learning to shoot. I didn't want to spend a fortune on a setup just to see if she would like archery so this was a great deal for the money. If she continues to enjoy shooting we will invest in a better bow but for now read more this does the job. I will be purchasing this item again next month for my 6 year old son.

Great gift

The kit you are looking at here would be a great starter kit. For the ages it will work for both ages. The arrows have hard tips on them, but for their ages, you will want something like that so they stick into the target. If you could call us at 1-260-587-9501 one of our techs can help you choose what will be the best fit for what you are looking for. We are open from 9-6 EST Mon-Friday and 9-5 on Fridays.

Is the "pink" option a pink bow or just the color of the bag? Black is on backorder so I'm trying to decide if I can get by with the pink option for my boys. Thanks!
