Whatever the fingertip material is, it is very tough but flexible enough to let you feel where your fingertips are on the string, and slick enough for a clean release. It's a really nice material, kind of between suede type leather and felt. I use mine with a 60 # longbow strung with Fast Flight, and it is protective enough to shoot for long periods of time with no sore fingertips read more afterward. They're also priced pretty competitively - I shoot my lighter bow (50 #) with a more expensive glove that has thinner fingertip protection, and I don't see a difference in quality. My only complaint is that it is a little small; I normally use a medium glove, I went with a large in these. I'm not sure why archery glove makers think everyone has super short fingers. I suggest them to everyone who shoots 50 plus pounds and wants a really protective glove with good string feel, or to anyone who just wants a good archery glove for a halfway reasonable price. I guess there isn't any reason NOT to use them on a lighter weight bow, but you could get away with something lighter without destroying your fingertips.

The Cordura material will last longer, the maga hide is comparable to a glove used to carry called the skookum. They are roughly the same thickness

How far does the mega-hide material extend down the finger from the finger tips? I use a deep hook draw where the string rests in the first joint, and have found the tip reinforcements to be too short on some other gloves.

On my fingers it extends about a quarter inch past the first joi 10 years ago
