Draw weight is marked at the nearest 5# increment to actual weight, (2#'s under and 3#'s over). This is an industry wide standard. Bow stringer not included. A bow stringer is recommended for stringing any recurve bow or longbow. Stringing a bow without a bow stringer, or stringing it backwards will void a bow's warranty. I bought this archery set for my 8 year old grandson.
For play and practice
Happy Child
I got this set for my 8 year old son to try archery. I chose this set because of the feather fletched arrows. I was very happy to find a Dacron string in the box. To me, this shows that 3Rivers knows what it takes to make an inexpensive bow into a good learning platform.
Great Kids Starter Bow for Price
Bought this for my 9 year old daughter and she and her friends have had a blast with it. Great starter kit
Works for us.
My five-year-old daughter is using this bow and loving it. After trying several arrow type we found a winner in the 3rivers wood youth arrow @28". Perfect for her. She is shooting an 18" target at 7yards and having great success. She will be able to grow with this one for a while yet.
Good bow. Arrow nocks to loose
I bought this for my 6 year old daughter. It's something she can grow into. The bow is great! The arrow nocks are bad loose. They fall off the string and won't attempt to stay on.
Yes, I would buy again.
The bows, arrows, misc. supplies equipment all arrived within a two days from ordering. It may have taken some time to square away the communication on the delivery schedule but all in all the products arrived well packaged and in excellent condition. I cannot comment on the use of the bow set since this was given as a gift to my distant family as an upcoming X-Mas gift. TonyD.
Great starter set
Great size for young archers
Great fun for my daughter!
Em wanted a bow and arrow set. This kit is great. Keith was outstanding. Got us all set up and educated us along the way.
Very nice over all, one thing to improve
This is a wonderful set, my 10 yr old could draw it back and had good aim, the belt quiver included is laim compared to the amazing back quiver we bought separately for our older child. Our 10yr old does not wear belts, we only have a dress belt for him, so the back quiver is MUCH better and worth it!! We need to get one for him... As my daughter is NOT giving hers up!
Yes to adjust the brace height you would twist the string to get to where you want.
A stringer is not needed for this bow. It can be strung by hand.
Happy Easter! He has risen! That bow is so small you don't need a bow Stringer. It's flexible enough even a child can bend it and string it themselves. Stay safe, wash your hands and have a wonderful time with your kids, it goes by way too fast! Blessings in His name, Doug.

Lil Indian bow
I bought this for my son for his sixth birthday and i think it was a wonderful purchase. When i first held it and pulled back on the string i thought it would be too heavy for the boy and it was for a couple of shots. By the third time out though he was doing really well!
Usually, you want to start by being close to the target and learn the fundamentals before getting too far from the target. I would suggest starting around 10 feet from the target, after their skills progress you can then start backing up. You do want to make sure that you have a good/safe back stop.
In the city/ county I live in, this is considered a lethal weapon and it is not allowed to be discharged within the city limits. If you discharged this weapon within the city, even in ones own back yard, it is punishable with a MINIMUM. $1000 fine. Our family shoots only in designated archery locations. We drive about 45 min to get to an indoor range. Their are clubs that organize safe get togethers where you can shoot outside at certain ranges. This bow can shoot very far, depending on your pull strength, it is not at all a toy. Good luck
the target doesn't need to be to far but not to close so about 10ft would be perfect!
Yes, you need some type of back stop to put the target on.
we do use a foam block
I would use a medium size nock and the Saunder's Nocking Pliers (Item # 4150)
Honestly, any of our youth arrows will work good with the Lil' Indian set. http://search.3riversarchery.com/buy/youth/youth-arrows The arrows that come with the set are our fiberglass arrows though: http://www.3riversarchery.com/Fiberglass+%26frac14%3B+Youth+Arrows_i4296-02_baseitem.html
we bought a dozen arrows per the reps suggestion
The Shooting Star Bow Stringer (Item# 1156) is a good bow stringer.
Yes, it would be a great match
I think it would be great! Good luck!
