The Mega Inferno fire starting kit features a ferro rod/cylinder, multi-tool knife/striker, and two 0.5 ounce cans of Pyro Putty (one Summer, one Winter).

The Pyro Putty is easily stored inside the ferro rod. You can carry the rod and multi-tool with you easily in a pocket or pack.

When you're ready to start your fire...

Gather some kindling

Remove the pyro putty from the ferro rod cylinder

Expose the fibers inside the putty

Attach the putty to the end of a stick

Ignite the putty by striking the multi-tool against the ferro rod

Use the ignited pyro putty to build your fire.

Alternatively, you can leave the Pyro Putty inside the ferro rod cylinder, expose the fibers, and ignite it using a lighter or other ignition source. The ignited Pyro Putty can then be used to start your fire.

Pyro Putty is an ideal fire starting substance, and easy to use. The Mega Inferno Kit comes with Summer Putty and Winter Putty. Summer Putty is for use in temperatures of 40°F to 100°F. Winter Putty is for use in temperatures of -20°F to 70°F.
