Acceptable
Good for arm protection in temperate weather, a bit stifling in the summer. Provides extra comfort for hand gripping bow. It's a little difficult to adjust the lacing though.
Great fit
I love the fit of this bracer. I wanted an arm protection and hand bracer in one. I have tried different hand bracers but the fit between my thumb and index finger really bothered me. This arm bracer fits great. I don't have problems with it rubbing on my hand at all. It is so nice to have a great fitting arm bracer.
Great all in one
This is a very comfortable glove/guard combo. It is easy to put on and off. It' seems to be durable but it's only got about 50 shots in it so far. Very little wear at this time. I would buy this product again. It's also a great period piece.
Almost perfect
The strings should be longer for easier take off and an extra step of leather on the inside of the arm would be great for extra protection, I use a 60lb bow so the string slap is quite hard and I think an extra layer of leather would help a lot
Wish it were a bit bigger
My forearm is to big had to modify it but I love it
Great guard
Glad I got this and the leather shooting glove! Leather is well worth the money!!
I would buy this product again and recommend it to all
As soon as I began using an antique button-hook that I had, lacing became much easier. Then, make sure you pull it back until the web is securely against your thumb. After that, it's a dream. So well made. Took me a while to justify its cost, but it is well worth the money on all fronts.
Good but not suited for wearing over a jacket
This is pretty well made and works great, but be aware that it is not really suitable for hunting in cool/cold weather because it doesn't leave room to put on over any kind of clothing. Perhaps it could be done if you switch to a longer lacing.
Very good and comfortable item! Safety is imperative.
Bow hunting. Very good product. We don't anticipate anything going wrong with the bow but, if it ever does, the arm protection will always be there!
I love it!
I shoot a 55# Longbow, and love using this bracer. If I get a little slap from the string, I barely notice it, great fit on my hand, personally, I upgraded the leather on the top of the hand to a more firm had leather, to help my arrows, but honestly after I did so, I didn't notice any difference, so I think it was redundant.
If you are holding the bow in your right hand then you would get a right hand bracer. This bracer will protect your hand from shooting off of it. You should be fine with the short bracer.
If you shoot with your bow in your right hand and your string in your left, buy the right-hand glove. There's a double-layer of heavy (buffalo skin?) leather over the top of your fist that is perfect for shooting off the hand. My only issue is that if I don't have my right elbow in the *perfect* position sometimes the string will catch in the end of the bracer; it doesn't hurt but another inch of length would have prevented the problem. On the positive side, it's a perfect diagnosis of poor form. I'm an average/chunky sized woman (5'3"), and the youth/woman sized bracer fits well. ###- Please type your reply above this line -### Can you answer lozen's question about this product? Robin Hood Bracer ?holding my longbow in my right hand, so do I order a left hand glove or right hand one? Shooting of the hand, no shelf and getting nasty lacerations, would this item protect me enough or do you think of something different? I'm a woman 5'7 rather small frame. I don't often snap the string on my forearm so do you recommend short versus long? Thanks for your help in advance.? Good morning Lozen Yes it will help you. What you want is the right hand glove, but you might have to have it tailored a little in the hand area. that is what a friend had to do and now I have too. But it is a very good glove.
Hi there, I have used the Robin Hood Bracer for several years with my English longbows, with no problem whatsoever. The leather part that goes over your knuckles will be your arrow-shelf. Looking at mine, I can see where it has taken flight scrapes, that would have been my hand. Well worth it for traditional longbows/warbows. Hope this helps.
Yes it will.
The children's long is 7" at the laces and the ladies long is 9" at the laces .
Yes you can use the bracer with any bow that you would like to shoot.
I have no problems with it. I use it as my primary arm guard when shooting all my bows: my recurve composite and compound. No comparability problems .
I would suggest the Men's size. I have about the same measurements and that is the size I have.

No there is not, however we do have a Medieval Archer Battle Quiver item # 6609
