Love this arm guard
I took the advice of one of the previous reviews and added a cord lock which allows you to make adjustments to the guards size. ...with that improvement the arm guard is 5 stars. Hopefully the manufacturer will add this one enhancement at some point.
A Must Have
This fits great.
Great armguard
This is the first armguard I bought. It's very well made out of quality leather. It's easily adjustable to fit my arm. I am male, 5'7'' and have a small frame. My forearms are not very big but this armguard fits me just fine after initial adjustment.
Best armguard I've had.
Winter in Wyoming requires a variety of clothing and some of it can obstruct the bowstring. The Traditional Only Armguard is easily adjustable and it is stiff enough to control bulky sleeves. I am more than happy with this product.
Basic & Nice Quality
Here is the deal. Once you knot the cord you are basically locked into one size. It would be very nice (5 Stars) if the manufacture included a cord lock. Similar to what one finds on many jackets bottoms. This would allow you to make adjustments to the guards size for different seasons or users. I added one from and old jacket and it works perfect!
Protective and stylish
A little on the large size but that is fine over a coat sleeve. I prefer the two point hook up for the simplicity of it. And it is thick leather that looks good with wool and traditional hunting clothes. I guess that it would look good with camo too.
Stops the sting!
This wasn't my first choice when I was ordering an arm guard, but this one was in stock at the time, looked apealing, and at a price I could live with. I have to say that after using it for most of the spring/summer, I really enjoy it! It was a bit stiff at first as I'm sure many thick, quality leather armguards are, but I worked/massaged it a fair bit and it softened right up… read more and conforms very nicely around my arm and is very comfortable to wear. Overall I'm glad I got it! It's a simple and attractive piece. I use it when shooting my recurve and longbow. I just started traditional archery less than a year ago from 20+ years of compound shooting and never really have an issue with string slap, but once in a while catch my arm just slightly with traditional and this armguard gives me peace of mind that it won't leave a mark if I do catch it good sometime!
This one is a winner
This is a great arm guard. It is described as "right hand only", but that just seems to be for the inscription to be readable. I'm a lefty, and when I put it on my right arm, the lettering is upside down, but that is meaningless. It is the best arm guard I've ever owned.
This is available only for the left arm. or the writing would be upside down
Not offered for the left hand shooter but the only difference would be the stamped logo on the leather. If you don't mind it being upside down it will work great on your right arm. Really a well made guard. Hope that helps, happy shooting Sent from Bill Baum's iPhone
It is 6 1/4 to 7 wide x 7 inches long
Hello, the arm guard measures 7 inches long from front to back. 7 inches wide at the back and tapers to 6 inches in the front. I have larger than average forearms and it fits me nicely. My wife has very small forearms so I tried it on her for comparison. It wraps around her arm and comes an inch or so from touching itself on the back side. It has plenty of adjustment thanks to the elastic band that laces it together. It was a little big for her bare arm but with a shirt or jacket on it would be fine. I would cut a piece of paper to the dimensions above and see how it fits you arm. I hope this helps, Bill Sent from Bill Baum's iPhone
