Great old head
My favorite Broadhead. I like the rough grind it comes with out of the package. Using a RADA wheel sharpener with a few strokes II can get it to pop hair off the arm. It is also tough enough although I did bend one with bad shot on a doe one time.
Very nice
Got these shaving sharp with minimal effort. Had a complete pass through on a whitetail this week, less than 20yd recovery. Consistent build and great shape for a big S shaped entry and exit.
Not good
Edges were terrible, uneven and chipped, right out of the package. Gentle sharpening tore away chunks of metal.
Best old school broadheads
Best for recurves and crossbows. Really easy to take in small space for survival kits. Very good on small game and birds unsharpened, and deadly on big game when sharpened. No blades to fall of or break like modern tips.
I would recommend this product
Have matched up these broadheads to my tapered arrows and they make a great all round hunting arrow for the Sambar deer
Very easy to sharpen.
So I am by no means an expert at sharpening broad heads and I often struggled with getting my broad heads crazy sharp. I was able to get them sharp but no to the point where hair would pop off my arm with no effort. I found that these heads have a very consistent edge geometry, and that with very little effort the edge can be sharpened to the sharpness I desired. They fly well and… read more do not very in arrow flight as my field tips. All in all one of my favorite broad heads I've come across.
My Go-To Broadheads!
My go-to broadheads! Accurate, consistent, and deadly... They also look sick! What more could you ask for from traditional archery tackle?
Good ole broadhead
In my opinion these are the best hunting broadhead on the market!!
Simple but effective
The cost for the points is awsome. The only problem I had with these points was having to touch up the edge before use they came out of the bag with a very rough edge, but after touching up found them to be consistent and reliable
EXCELLENT BROADHEAD
I have been using aluminum bodied broadheads for 30 years . Always disappointed with the need to buy replacable blades or most often just trash the heads after one shot . I am guilty of buying from the local sporting goods store instead of seeking a better source with better options . Having decided to put together a dozen new arrows I searched the internet for a good broadhead… read more at a reasonable price . The Ace Standard really appealed to me , not just in price but in its long history and the great reviews . The new broadheads came with a jagged ground edge but filed easily . Finished the edge with a diamond tool and then stropped . Scary sharp ! The Ace tuned easily on the steel adapters and 2216 Legacy shafts . Arrow flight could not get any better than what I have seen with these heads being shot from the 45# , 64" Super Kodiak. I have literally ruined a foam broadhead target with my one practice Ace . After more than 300 shots the head is still sharp enough to cut rope. 3 Rivers is top of the line in products and service . Ordered here twice this year with several items in each order and everything was perfectly correct .
Available in 6 pack only.
They will overlap the shaft a little but, you should not have a problem with flight.
I would use the AAE 2 part Epoxy.
We do not have an estimated date at the moment unfortunately. We do have them on order though.
I would recommend the steel broadhead adapters (item # 4226X)
I would put the 5198X 11/32 short broadhead adapters, you wont be able to notice the 7 grain difference.
Depending on what pound of bow and arrow spine you shoot.
Fellow Archer, The ballistic quality and efficiency of an 11/32" cedar or fir shaft with the Ace 160 gr. head depends on the fletching used and the weight of the bow. I use 3, 5-inch parabolic feathers with a straight or helical fletch to give the arrow some spin and stability. I use 45# and 50# Martin X-200 recurves. For heavy broadheads some weight behind the arrow is required for range and penetration on deer, pig and black bear. Remember: Razor-sharp broadheads give you the equivalent of another 5-10 lbs. of penetration on big game animals. I've used Ace broadheads for decades. They are great. Good hunting, William C. As long as the arrow shafts are spine weighted to your bow they should fly just fine.
It depends upon the weight of the bow and if. Yu tune the arrow but most likely yes.
I suggest you use the 125 grain.BestOnur
Yes the KME sharpener will work well with this broadhead
;Yes, a KME will work fine with the Ace head. I don't use it on mine as they are easy to sharpen the old fashion way. I use a stone and finish up with ceramic sticks. Hair popping sharp! That's one thing I like about these heads is how easy they are to sharpen. Sent from my U.S. Cellular® smartphone
You have the option between 125 grains or 160 grains.
The Ace Standards are listed at 125 and 160 grains. The 160's I have were all within 2-3 of 160 grains as measured on a scale. Balanced superbly on aluminum adapters and fly extremely well out of my K Mag's (29" 2117 with 4" 4 fletch).
Frankie, I use the 160 gr. on the 3 rivers POC arrows they fly great, easy to sharpen and penetration is excellent. They are also available in 125 gr. shoot Straight } - - - >>-----------> Steubenville
You can select either 125 grains (0.2857 ounces) or 160 grains (0.3657 ounces)
It weighs 125 gr or 160gr. I use the 125gr, my field points are also 125 gr. Good Luck have fun!
They are factory ground. You will need to do some touch up work and pull the burs off before they will be usable.
