Excellent Accessorie
A needed replacement for those who shoot carbon and wooden arrows.
I would buy again and great service, thanks!
Received the items promptly and they were as good as expected. Great service
Great replacement for the newer smaller diameter carbon
This was the perfect replacement for the smaller diameter carbon shafts
Solid replacement part
I was switching over to carbon shafting with 5/16" shafts. This replacement arrow gripper was easy to install, quiet and functional. Good product.
Northern 5-Arrow Gripper
I use this to carry different sizes of arrows. It is easy to replace with a screw driver. You only have three screws to loosen to replace a different size for your arrow type. The bow quiver is quiet and light.
Works ok
Works ok but wish the grippers were a little deeper and i had to buy the right size grippers because the ones that come with quiver were too big had to pay xtra money when you should have the option of the size you want when buying quiver now i have the one that came with it and i dont need it because its too big the medium size works ok though
Great Gripper
I liked the looks of this arrow gripper and got the foam also. It looked nice for me to make my own side quiver.
Poor fit (very unusual!)
Very unusual. I bought to replace the arrow gripper on a Northern Mist Quiver for Easton type arrows. Unfortunately, it was very hard to put on the existing quiver, then the arrow grippers were not sized to fit the Easton arrows very well. The two inner grippers will have to be bored out a little. I'll do that myself. But someone should alert the factory to this. (I'm still a big… read more fan of 3-rivers, so don't judge them by this).
Skinny Aroows, Easton Axis
I bought this when I bought some Easton Axis 400 arrows. Holds the arrows tight.
Wrong sizing information
Information on 3R website says to use the small size for Beman MFX. Information that comes from Great Northern in the packaging says a size medium should be used with 9/32" shafts. The size small is too small for the Beman MFX's. 3R should change their website description on this item to match what Great Northern recommends.
The Medium size will be 9/32" to 5/16" to fit the Axis shafts.
Black Eagle Vintage Arrows have a diameter of 5/16 therefore you will need a size medium replacement gripper.
You would need to get either the medium or the small. I have the FMJ's and i use the medium gripper.
Yes a large
The large holds my 2117s nicely.
The normal size will hold the Traditional Only arrows and the small gripper will give you a little more secure fit.
the gripper sizes are large 11/32-23/64, med 9/32-5/16, small 3/16- 1/4.. most carbon arrows are 5/16, beman and axis are smaller. the traditional only shafts are 5/16. so you would need a med.
I shoot Gold Tip 3555s (0.296"), so I use the Great Northern quiver retrofit with a small gripper. The 3Rivers Traditional Only (0.3125") may work with the stock large gripper that comes with the Great Northern. I would try that first, and then order the medium if the large is too loose. The small will not work, it will be too tight. No matter which gripper you use, it will perform better if you lubricate the grips with a small amount of petroleum jelly.
For the 75/95 Gold Tip arrows you will want to use the medium gripper.
I own a Great Northern quiver and both the large and small grippers. I shoot GT 35/55s out of my long bow, so I use the small gripper in the field. It is snug, but I apply petroleum jelly to the gripper and that makes it work well. I stalk, so I don't want any of the noise that comes with arrow slippage. I also have GT 75/95s on hand because that's what I shoot out of my compound bows. I tried them, and they seem too tight in the small gripper, although they fit in the large gripper (of course). So, the large gripper may work, but I haven't tried it in the field, taking steps with the weight of inverted broadheads testing the holding power of the grips (I only use this quiver on my long bow). Bottom line: if it's a new replacement gripper that's required, I would get the medium for GT 75/95s. If it's a new quiver or you can still use the original gripper, trying the stock large gripper before spending the money on a new medium gripper is an option. In either case, apply a thing film of petroleum jelly to the grips. I hope this helps. Ed
The med size will work fine. A Gold tip 76-95 will fall under the 5/16 size.
