Terrible for pheasant

Cam

Got these for pheasant hunting because they're dog friendly. The first bird I hit, the snaro bounced off it and broke. The bird acted like nothing happened and flew away. This is with a 60# recurve from about 5yds...

Awsome points!

The 3 in. are the only points I have used on Grouse and Ptarmigan that do not penetrate the bird and ruin the meat. They are not as accurate, do not have the range, and are a bit more expensive than other small game points but if you are hunting because you enjoy eating birds as I do they are the only real option.

Effects Arrow Flight More than Expected

I bought the larger size. Unfortunately, there is a noticable difference in arrow flight. Not just downward due to heavier weigth but also side to side due to the loops. The Kondors and Judos are smaller diameter but no noticable effect on arrow flight.

Questionable Quality Control

I ordered 2 of the 6'' snaros. The packaging and the three rivers website both said they would weigh in at 300 grains. I measured both and got around 270 grains each. I wrapped some extra wire on to bulk up the weight, but I shouldn't have had to do that.

Nope

Hit a magpie broadside with the Snaro 6 inch model. It took a moment to give me a nasty look before flying off. Does remove feathers, but the dispersed impact is not good at killing birds. Stick to Judo points. The Snaro was a big dissapointment.

I found the 2" Snaro easy and fun to use. Better than a Judo for stump shooting and quite accurate for doves, pidgeons, and quail. Impossible to lose, it makes an outing with my boys that much more enjoyable.

Worked as expected, 1 canada goose down!

Using these snaros with Al shafts n Flu Flu's I have had some real enjoyment (and some success). With roughly 25 shots to each kill, there has been very little "fixing" of the product whether in flooded timber or field.

Snaro is fair"o"

Bought the 2 inch model to compare with judo points. Even the 2 inch model weidhs 200 grains and remarkably effects speed (more than I expected). I normally shoot 125 grain heads. The points are fine but you probably won't like if you shoot lighter tips normally (as I do). I wish the kondor was made in 125 grain. I will personally stick with judos and kondors

Yes it will, and if you have a bow that is more powerful than 45 lb you will cut the head from the body. That at least is my experience. Cheers,

I was interested in pheasent hunting with my bow in November, would this be the right product to use? If so what size should I get and do I need to get flu-flu arrows for it? So you know I have a Bear 48" Magnum recurve bow. Thanks for your time.

A pheasant is big enough that the Snaro's will not have as much 12 years ago

A pheasant is big enough that the Snaro's will not have as much of an effect on them. I recommend using a broadhead instead. The head can be a little dull and 3 or 4 blade will work the best.

I would not use these on Phesant. I have used them on Pigeons with great results but I would use a broadhead and flu-flus on a bird as large as a Phesant.
