Great blunt!
I have a 34 inch draw and my draw weights end up being about anywhere from 80 to 95 pounds. So if you have a long draw, this blunt works great It's a great design, doesn't take up a lot of real estate or create drag. Very powerful and accurate.
Good stump shooter and small game head
I like these heads. I was using rubber blunts, which work quite well for me, but I wanted to try other options. I have not used them to take game yet, but they fly very true, they hit hard and they don't get lost. They might transmit more impact to the arrow shaft if they strike a rock or tree, but I haven't done so yet. I also like the fact that they are available in a number of… read more weights, which can help in tuning arrows. It is also clear that they are hardened steel, after several strikes on the ground they still look like they just came out of the package.
Nice!
Simple. Durable. Effective. Cost efficient. What more could you want in a small game blunt?
Rabbit nasty
First day using these I shot a rabbit in my neighbors garden with my #45 sage. Arrows didn't pass completely through which is great for small game.
Best Stump shooting head on the market
Best stump and small game head on the market. Have shot it hundreds of time and have not lost it yet. As tough as they come
They are killing my GrizzlyStiks
I stump shoot and I've used judos for tens of thousands of shots. Recently I started shooting 175 grain broad heads and I wanted a stump-tip to match that weight and Judos are only 125 grain so I tried these. I've destroyed 2 of my precious and expensive GrizzlyStik shafts in just a couple of days. I've never experienced that rate of damage with the Judo points. I have a theory… read more why but it's just my theory... A judo's outer circumference is a spring and it absorbs shock. The Hammer is extremely durable, but it's outer circumference is solid and rigid. When it's edge catches on something solid, like a stone, it transfers energy sidewards and puts pressure UNEVENLY on the sidewall of the shaft. I believe that is what is causing damage to my carbon arrows. BTW, the impacts that damaged my arrows WAS NOT extreme. These points may work well in certain circumstances but I would not recommend them for stump shooting with carbon shafts. I just wish Zwickey would offer judos in heavier weights.
My Favorite Stumping point
The hammers are the best stumping point ever! They bring out the destructive little kid in me! The little claws help prevent loss, not as good as a Judo, but you would lose field points if you shot em like Hammers! They really tear up stuff, don't ruin your nice targets! They are perfect for ripping tin cans to shreds and chopping down old fence posts and random vandalism. … read more They will stop a bunny on the spot, too.
Tough and work great
Tough!
Big performance from blunt tip
beginner archery family took up flu flu shooting for family fun-these tips hold up well
Great for Small game and Stump shooting
Great Point for stumping and small game. A must for all "archers tackle boxes"
A hay bail works best for hammer blunts
These blunts are not designed for target use.
they are great for stumps and small game but i don't know about targets. definitely not foam, but a stack of burlap ought to work well.
Unfortunately we do not have a 100 grain hammer blunt.
The widest part of these blunts is 1/2 inch.
The 250 grain has been discontinued and we will not be getting those back in stock.
I know they are made in the USA, but I don't know the specific manufacturer.
I got 6 of these last year and don't remember the name on the package, but they were great until you made a really solid shot on something. It blew through the end of aluminum and carbon arrows aftef hitting a healthy stump.
Yes
Absolutely. I have found them to be deadly on game as big as a large raccoon.
I haven't shot a rabbit with one of these, but I have shot a squirrel. I used a 60lb compound, and hit in the mid section. It didn't kill it immediately, but I no problem recovering it. This thing is death on birds, and feel certain that if you hit a rabbit in the head it would kill it. Good luck! Sent from my iPhone
Yes. Most certainly. Sent from my iPad
Yes, they fly straight, and they are great for shooting rabbits and small game! Andreas Rydland
They are sold by the 3-pack.
Yes, it will work on raccoons, but I like to use a dull 3 blade on game that size.
Penetrates more than you might expect, but effective. Depends on draw weight I suppose. Far more lethal than rubber "bunny" type blunts. I would think the greater issue would be shot placement, hitting a raccoon with a 3 blade broadhead should be leathal. I like these for varmints and stumping but if I didn't care about losing or destroying arrows on small targets I'd choose slick trick 4 blade broadheads. Lethal on anything. Cheers, Tim. I haven't tried this head on Raccoons, but it is deadly on Jackrabbits.
Hey Phlipper , Although these are great heads for sure , I would NOT recommend hunting Raccoon sized animals with them . I always use my deer set up & broadheads for groundhogs , raccoons , etc.....Coons are small bears , and Boar coons are small Grizzlies ...Least in attitude ;) These type heads are great for squirrel , rabbit sized prey and stump killing ;)

I do not know how much damage they would cause out of you compound. I have only ever shot them out of a traditional bow.
I can only imagine that they would pass through a turkey coming from a bow like that. My own exprience from a 60# recurve so far is complete pass through of a 3/4 inch plywood from 30 yards! (32 inch arrow dynamics hammerhead 650gr at 164fps.)
I would not. I think you would be better suited with a cut on impact broadhead or some kinda mechanical with a sharp blades.
Personally, I would not try a body shot with these tips. I would worry about them just bouncing off, as turkey feathers are like armor, stopping even some shotgun bb's. You would probably be fine because your arrow seems to be very fast, but I wouldn't want a wounded bird. With a head shot though, they will give that gobbler more than just a headache. If you are capable of hitting a turkey head with a field point, these would be great, because they fly just like field tips.
I'd reckon they'd knock it over alright but they wouldn't make it bleed you'd be better off using a good broadhead they're really only for small game
Personally on a Turkey I would'nt use anything but a broadhead.
Yes, they will fit any standard carbon or aluminum shaft.
