Great company Zwickey
What else can you say? ITS A ZWICKEY
I always buy this brand!
I use this broadhead for hunting and broadhead league. I have killed Blacktail deer and Elk with them. They always preform great with outstanding blood trails.
Great broadhead for trad archer
These are tough, affordable and very effective broadheads. That being said, to get them sharp enough to hunt you will have to put some time in to get them sharpened. They have a great video on youtube how to do this. If you follow instructions they get scary sharp in a reasonable amount of time. Shooting a traditional #50 longbow, I like that these are both tough and wood arrow… read more friendly. They are easy to glue on and fly very well. If you expect the razor sharp edge of the throw away replaceable blades you will be disappointed. If you shoot a traditional bow and enjoy the journey and want a broadhead that will absolutely work and take a beating doing it with a bit of effort, these are for you. I see the sharpening as a plus, its about the journey, otherwise I'd be shooting a new carbonfiber, laser sighted "space bow" with big wheels. There is beauty in simplicity.
All I plan on shooting
I plan to hunt deer turkey and hogs with these broadheads haven't got to hunt with them yet but they all fly great and penetrate better than anything I've seen on my block target and they don't come with a great factory bevel but if you have a sharp file or small belt grinder it's no problem at all to get them shaving sharp
Still and outstanding broadhead and a good price
I have been using Zwickey heads for about 45 years and have always had good performance from them. Recently bought some of the No Mercy heads but wanted to get some actual hunting experience with them before writing a review. I had a spine hit and a shoulder blade hit with these heads from a 55lb recurve and got excellent penetration with no damage to the broad heads. I think… read more the No Mercy is a good compromise between the Deltas and Eskimos wrt size and flight characteristics. They are easier to sharpen in my opinion than the Deltas because of the straight rather than convex/concave edge of the Deltas. Many complain about sharpening Zwickeys but if you set the initial bevel with a 6 or 8" mill file, then use a stone, diamond sharpener or ceramic rod to refine the edge then a steel and/or strop a very sharp edge can be achieved relatively quickly. The Zwickeys have always given me good arrow flight if aligned properly on arrows with sufficient spine and fletching. These heads have been around for a very long time for good a reason-they simply work!
Poor Quality
Ordered the single bevel while out of state for work to finish up a new set of arrows. Straight out of the package the paint is already chipping off and they are butter knife sharp. All three tips have some sort of inconsistency on the bevel with one having an extra 1/16 of an inch outward bow about an 1/8th of an inch from the tip. Sharpening and cleaning up the inconsistent bevel… read more is difficult. Due to the amount of time needed to get even one broaddhead sharp enough to take into the woods I missed out on 2 of the 4 sits before I head back out of state for work. I read a good majority of the reviews before purchasing and decided to buy anyway despite the negative reviews. I would not recommend ignoring the negative reviews or buying this product.
Don't waste your time
My wife bought these for me as a gift, and I could not sharpen them enough to ethically use them. I make my own knives, and I'm skilled in blades. I used Grobet Files, KME Broad Head Sharpener, Synthetic Stones, Arkansas Stones, and Diamond Stones. I went through 2 packs trying to get one head sharp enough to use. Finally had them tested by a gunsmith friend who found out they have… read more a Rockwell Hardness of of around 55 to 60. I called Zwicky ( as I had already used one pack trying to sharpen one), and they told me to try another pack, and if that was the same to send them back and they would replace them. I'm sending them tomorrow, will repost if the replacements are better.
Cant beat for the price!
Bought the "No Mercy" left bevel to go with my newly made 62# Osage Longbow. They came in a pack of 3 and were all within 3 grains of each other. The did require sharpening but any novice should be able to get an edge on them in no time. Was able to harvest a late season buck with them this year and I have no complaints. I pulled a less than desirable hit and still got 14" of penetration… read more and put the deer down fast. Thanks Zwickey and Three Rivers Archery for a great product and customer service!
THE OLDER ONES ARE GREAT!!!
I SHOT TWO 5X5 BULL ELK, WITH COMPLET PASS THROUGH ON ONE & HE WAS ON THE GROUND IN 15 SEC. OR LESS!! THE OTHER I HIT THE SHOULDER BLADE, & STILL DUBBLE LUNGED HIM!! I WAS USEING 3/8 CEDER SHAFT'S, THE HOLE WAS LARGE ENOUGH FOR THE SHAFT TO GO THROUGH THE SHOULDER BLADE! THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE NO MERCY WHEN I RECOVERED IT. I HAVE SHOT SEVERAL DEER & ELK WITH GREAT… read more RESULT'S..
Nouthing bad to say
Got the broadheads for hunting right out of the package I notice only one problem the grind for the edge was slopy on 2 and non existent on the last the grinds never actuly made an edge it just scuffed off a bit of paint. But after a little time with a file I had them hair poping sharp I figured I'd need to sharpen them anyway but the quality control on the final grind was disappointing… read more other wise thay are good strong heads easy to mount and clean
They should come in sometime in December.
A left wing fletching will spin counter clockwise and right wing clockwise.
Yes also if you look at the fletching from back to front they should angle left.
These are for a 11/32 or 23/64 arrow. If you want something for a 5/16 shaft I would look at the Zwickey Eskilite item number 422120
Sold by the 3-pack only
All of our fletched arrows are a LW feather so you will need the left wing bevel.
You can use a file's, stones, 3rccsharpener.
No. Simply use a file and a stone.
Yes they work on 11/32 or 23/64 glue on weigh 130gr
Yes, they will work fine and they're 130 grains in weight.
I'm using them on 11/32 shafts. 130 grains
Yes it will the 5/16 shafts.
All of the broadheads that we sell are cut on contact.
These will work on 23/64 arrows. You will have a slight taper showing because the they are actually 11/32. There is not a company that makes a 23/64 Broad head because 11/32 is standard.
