Everything about this product was great except the color. I know it says color may vary but Good Grief! These things were the strangest shade of gray-brown. Not even close to the normal brown shades seen in pictures of product or bows fitted with them. Installed them and they looked so ugly I removed them.

Great strike plate easily modified for any bow. Just the right thickness in my opinion. Adhesive is forgiving when placing on bow (thank goodness), but once in place holds strong.
Not just for Bear bows anymore!

looks good on my 1970's Shakespeare recurve. Large enough to cover a good portion of the riser and thin enough to keep arrows close to riser.

I was restoring my girlfriend's 1955 Bear Kodiak special and I needed to replace the side plate. This leather one does the trick nicely. It's easy to apply (peel and stick) stays in place once it's firmly applied and looks great. The horizontal lines actually work perfectly as gap indicators for this bow. What advantage does this Strike Plate give to a Bear Super Grizzly, compared to the bow's original Plate?

the 1959 strike plate is larger and of a softer leather than the one on your super grizz. it will help quiet down arrow noise a little and keep your fletches from rubbing against the riser. all in all it's real appeal is nostalgia.

Glenys, I don't know for sure on the exact fitment on the newer kodiak models. My guess would be that it would be as close to perfect as you are going to find of the shelf. Best of luck, but I wouldn't hesitate to take a chance on buying it. With regards. Jethro
