Not perfect, but good
Love it and hate it. Used this regularly for about 6 months. I've spent hours adjusting this thing, added a longer bolt and several washers to get it right. Also sanded down bits to get better clearance for the riser. At the end I get great accuracy for string walking, but paid for it with time.
Rugged and low profile
I was looking for a low profile arrow rest for my takedown longbow that I did not want to have to remove each time. Whisker biscuits and the rest seemed too bulky. I liked that this one utilized a spring mechanism to rise the prongs rather than a secondary string attached to the bowstring like many drop aways. Like other commenters stated, its highly adjustable. I too noticed… read more the "play" in the cam shaft ... but because of the spring mechanism being one sided, that play is consistently reset to the same position. So long as the arrow weight isnt so heavy that it overcomes this spring at full draw (which spring pressure is also adjustable) it makes for a very stable and consistent shooting experience. The one change I might make myself is to further cut down this cam shaft with a Dremel to further reduce weight and potential snag points. It was clearly made to accommodate many different bow types. I could not see adjusting it for windage as being very efficient, so to me it is a tad too long. Even so, it had a lower profile than most arrow rests but is considerably more robust than the ones with a small spring wire or a magnetic lever on it. This ones always reset, in position, and ready to go when you are ready to draw ... no additional thinking required there.
Great Adjustability
I was looking for a minimal contact rest. With this rest, I have set it up so that the fletching has no or very light contact with the rest or the bow. There is a little play in the arrow rest bolt. I like all the adjustability this rest has.
It will indicate a left handed bow, or a bow held in the right hand and drawn with the left.
Yes , it will work fine on the DAS riser .
This should fit any bow that has a standard threaded berger hole.
I do not have one to double check but it should work.
This rest would work very well on the Samick Discovery and will help you achieve the centershot you are looking for.
I wouldn't recommend this rest for that bow.
To get center shot you would be able to use that rest on that bow.
This setup includes shrink tubing for the prongs.
Yes, the Stinger rest will support a heavy bowfishing arrow. I tested it on a solid fiberglass arrow.
Yes, the AAE Stinger rest will work with vane fletched arrows. It does require a plunger hole to mount to.
