Great serving material.
Use this to serve the flemish strings I build. The .021 provides a good nock fit on Brownell B-50 Dacron 14 strand strings but if I want a wee tad tighter fit, I use the .025 then fold a piece of 120 sand-paper over an un-served section of bowstring and run the nocks over it several times to get it just where I want it.
Durable and affordable
On all my strings
First time using this ptoduct. Seems to be very strong,
I am a Boyer with over 15 years of experience. This product is well made.
MAKES A FINE SLIM SERVING
VERY NICE SERVING. THE NOCK COMES OFF THE SERVING CLEAN. I ALSO USE IT TO WRAP THE STRING LOOPS.
Works as advertised......
This stuff is tough, easy to use.
Good stuff...
No complaints... Your string will typically become ragged well before this serving material shows much wear... It isn't as high-end as Halo, but it isn't as expensive either...
Good product for the money
speedy delivery and good service.
BCY #62 Braided Center Serving
if you shoot alot this serving is a must
Good stuff
serving
For this particular string it would be the .018 diameter
Standard size serving is .021 but it depends on how many strand string you have .
You can use any serving, most people go with the nylon for dacron strings.
I make mostly continuous loop bow strings but occasionally make a Flemish twist. I usually don't use nylon for the center serving in either case because I believe it doesn't last as long. However I do use nylon for the loop serving on the continuous loop bow strings. For what it's worth, I am a bow hunter and prefer a fairly tight nock which may cause more wear on the center.
I used this for center serving. It worked just fine.
Yes. Apply wax! Sent from my iPad
Yes. It will work fine. It is what I use on 14 strand flemish.
I use #62 in .024 on my 14 strand d97 strings
Walrus, I don't see why not. but I am a expert.
It will depend on the size of your nocks and how much pinch you want the nocks to have.
i was always taught to decide where the serving is going and what abuse it will take. a middle of the pack dia. can be used in for all facets of the bow,but if you plan on using it on a high impact area i.e. release site, top and bottom string loop, or nocking point, it will wear down faster than the thicker dia. i personally choose the mid range for its versitility so i only have one bobbin in my field case, yet i keep in mind to check the serving every use since it will wear faster.
Hi Darryl , what I did was measure the diameter of an old serving with calipers , that give me about .019 -.020 , then I ordered .021 . I am using nocks from Bearpaw index clasic , the throat is quite tight and with the flemish string I can get a good fit . I you are using Bohning nocks for example may be a better fit would be .025 . I hope these can help you . My regards Hugo
Correct. The BCY #62 braided center serving is used in place of nylon mono-filament and similar. The #62 has a strong grip to the string material and very durable against nock wear.
