Great bow for real archers or those wanting to be.
I have been shooting since I could walk but took a 45 year break. 63 now so it's apparently like riding a bike. Photo is not representative of my normal 12 arrow ends. My SK is a #55, my next will be a 60 through TRA. I also have the original Kodiak in a #45, it's lighter, prettier and quieter but the grip is a littleā¦.dainty. Full disclosure: I've tried a shot or two with other… read more bows but basically have always stood behind Fred Bear. There may be better bows but I stand behind Fred Bear, the man. This is a man's bow designed and shot by the man himself.
Great bow. Fits my hand perfectly. My draw length is 30 inch
I use it for target and hunting.
It is so quite!
This bow has no hand shock and is really quite. Even before I put string silencers and Velcro on the string grooves. Even with arrows that were a little bit on the light side. I did buy a new string to replace the one that came with it since I learned from the bear grizzly that the strings are not that good. I think they changed the strings a bit since but I am not sure if it is… read more better (switched it since it was small for my arrow nocks well). I don't have arrows built for it yet so nothing is tuned. I cannot wait to get it set up. I think it is much nicer looking than expected. It has a much lighter colour finish than what you see in the picture of it.
So Far so Good
Accurate out of the box. Beautiful, LIGHTWEIGHT!
Yes
At 70+years old and shoulder surgery could no longer pull my 60# kodiak so purchased 45# super kodiak and now back enjoying my addition to archery.
Bear recurves are excellent, but bow was damaged
Bow shoots excellent but was damaged either during shipping or manufacturing didnt want to wait another 2 months for another back ordered 50lb kodiak
Good...for a short time!!!
Bow was smooth, accurate, good looking, and quiet! However after receiving it brand new and a practice session and a half, both the upper and lower limbs began forming horizontal laminate cracking lines. I maybe put 50-60 arrows through it....so bummed! I'm hoping I just received a lemon because I had heard so many good things about Bear bows!
Very pleased with this bow
Very pleased with this bow. Everything you would expect from a Bear Archery Bow!!!
Great bow!!!!
My first bow bought in 1967 was a Bear Grizzly. After owning several Bear and Custom bows over the years an arm injury required I back off my brake weight. Bought the Bubunga/Grayling Green Super Kodiak 50#. Using my home made cedars I was pleasantly surprised with the accuracy, speed and smoothness of this bow! Beautifully finished. Shot this cottontail at 25 yards three days… read more after I recieved this bow.
We have not had any problems with tips.I would think that modern materials may be stronger.
If you want a unique look, I recommend the https://www.3riversarchery.com/selway-grayling-side-mount-bear-archery-bow-quiver.html as I love the color and it mounts to the quiver bushings on the Super Kodiak. For another option that mounts to any bow you have, our 4-arrow bow quiver is very popular: https://www.3riversarchery.com/3rivers-mini-boa-4-arrow-bow-quiver.html
It can be tough to gauge, we do offer a 30 day return window so if it is too heavy or too light you can send it back for an exchange.
We can ship anywhere , you may have to call in the order if it won't work on line .
We do have them in stock.

We are hoping for a month from now, but this really is just a guess. We have older orders with Bear Archery, but we do not have a good ETA though. Sorry.
