Works great fit my 1976 Darton recurve after trimming
Works as it should
I will never buy this again.
Came with no adhesive backing, also very poor construction, the fibers were falling off right out of the package. Same some money and buy the three rivers set, I've been pretty underwhelmed by anything in archery that has the Bear name attached to it.
Love this Rest and Plate - A true classic look and feel.
Classic Bear rest and plate, love the look feel and functionality. Have used these successfully on 5 bows, love them.
Always use this product
I put on all my recurves and long bows. Great quality, long lasting.
I would buy this product again
This rest is quite and the adhesive stays put.
Keeping It Vintage Bear
As a collector of vintage Bear recurve bows it is so awesome that 3Rivers keeps these Bear shelf rests and strike plates available. Easy to install and super sticky glue backing ensures they never move on the bow. Best of all it keeps my Bear bows looking like the day they came out of the factory in the 1960's & 70's!
It worked for me so i bought another
It has been good for me on all my bows
Would buy again
Seems to be of good quality. It is a BEAR ARCHERY product after all
Better than expected
I was hesitant about how well the adhesive would stick to the bow and would the edges of the rest roll up over time. No complaints and pleasantly surprised with no issues of that.
Was skeptical but it works
I was very skeptical about using this system instead of a plastic arrow rest but I wanted this simple rest/plate to go with my recurve barebow. I've shot with it on four outings at the range and so far no issues. I got the rest and plate with a recurve bow kit and 3Rivers installed for me and they did a pretty good job as both pieces are still firmly secure. So any newbies who are… read more getting into traditional archery can have confidence that they can shoot from this rest, no problem. Only thing is you need to shoot fletched arrows with it.
You may need a small amount of clearance between the rest and side plate. The down hen feather will naturally show some signs of wear over time.
I had an older Ben Person bow that presented with a similar problem. I found that leaving a small gap between the edge of the rest and the riser(1/8) inch, and placing a portion of a toothpick under plate seemed to help a little. It seemed to add a little more feather clearance.
These are a peel and stick rest and plate. For the rest you would take the brown piece off the bottom and stick it to the shelf. For the rest you would do the same thing with the white piece on the back.
Yes, That hair shelf was really tricky. the back peel of it is not the thin film and eventually after some wiggling i was able to get it to work.
It's been years, but from what I remember it was a cover over an adhesive and didn't require anything else.
It's a peel and stick you have to take the shiny paper off to expose the glue you might need a razor blade to get it started
The weather rest is for shooting vanes, the bear hair rest and plate are for feathers only
The weather rest will allow you to shoot arrows with plastic vanes. People do this for many reasons, including arrows with plastic vanes are easier to find and may be cheaper. The hair rest is for shooting off the shelf. Plastic vanes do not fly well off the shelf because they will not collapse like feather fletching. Personally, I like feathers off the shelf. Either one will work just fine, the Weather will allow you to use both plastic and feathers.
5713 is a little thinner on the rug portion
Hair rest is just what is implied it rests on the arrow shelf on the bow (you just stick it on and the arrow rests on top. the plate is vertical and sticks on the inside of the arrow shelf. So under your arrow is the rest and on the side of your arrow is the rubber plate. Hope this helps.
It is 1/8" thick
It is just under an 1/8th"

Yes this can be used on a Browning Nomad II. You could also use an elevated rest if you want.
Yes, this is a product provide to us from Bear Archery.
Yes this would work
Yes I believe it would Sent from my iPhone > > your
It is self adhesive, so I think it would work to double the rest plate.
