The Diamond Series is an evolution on the Tomahawk Bows® line. Beefing up the mass weight in the riser for strength and more "dead in hand" shooting, and adding a continuous strip of carbon to the limbs that runs tip-to-tip to keep the limbs working in perfect harmony for the absolute best efficiency and performance from your Tomahawk longbow.
Tomahawk Bows® are known for their impressive combination of speed, smoothness, and stability. The secret is in the design. Our unique "trapped" deflex/reflex limb profile and special core of two inner edge-grain laminations in addition to the two outer flat-grain laminations provide the ultimate combination of inner strength and outer beauty.
The SS has been called "Super Smooth," "Super Sweet," "Super Shooter," and many other things. The stained Bamboo adds an elegant look that makes this model stand out as "Top of Class" among all longbows.
Riser: Cocobolo Dymondwood with black phenolic accents. Risers are cut approx 1/16" positive of center with a black calf hair rest and plate installed. Limbs: Super Action Wood and Carbon between Yew belly and stained Bamboo backing, with Gordon's clear Bow-Tuff fiberglass, phenolic tip overlays.
Handle Accents: Cocobolo Dymondwood with Bamboo on top.
Grip: Hand-laced leather grip.
String: High-performance Fast Flight® Flemish twist bow string.
Choose from a left or right hand bow (choose based on what hand you Draw the bow string with), and bow weight at a 28" draw length. Remember that with a traditional bow the weight will change depending upon what your draw length is. Bow weight will change approximately ±2½ pounds for every inch from a bows rated draw length. So a bow rated 45# @ 28" bow is roughly a 42½# @ 27" or 47½# @ 29". Draw weight is marked at the nearest 5# increment to actual weight, (2#'s under and 3#'s over). This is an industry wide standard.
A bow stringer is recommended for stringing any recurve bow or longbow. Stringing a bow without a bow stringer, or stringing it backwards will void a bow's warranty. It is recommended to unstring your bow if you do not plan to be shooting more than week. Store your bow on its side, or hanging vertically from a peg. Never rest the bow on the lower tip for extended periods of time. Never dry fire the bow (shooting without an arrow).
