Elevated rest resolved issue

Dean

It solved the shooting issue I was having just as I hoped it would. Seems to be holding up well.

Looks like old product. Protective paper on adhesive was lifting off all 4 purchased. Had to glue on with Barge cement

Great Arrow rest

I was having issues with my arrows going high right on my recurve. I had a hard plastic arrow rest. With this flexible arrow rest it improved my shot where my arrows were only a little higher than I was aiming but they were hitting the target in the center.

Used these years ago.

I used these back in the 60's and since I have been shooting again the last few years, I decided to use them again. I trim them with a scissors to the length I like. I like to have enough to hold the arrow but more than is necessary so the fletching does not hit the rest when leaving the bow.

My first elevated rest.

It works grate on my Predator Hunter, was releasing arrows off the shelf, but switched to vanes, and this works grate! 50# recurve 31" draw, 400 spine 32",175gr tip. instinctive.

Old style for old bows without a rest

Was very thin . took the adhesive off and glued it to the bow with barge cement. Used on an old Bear Panda bow and slid it under leather grip. Granddaughter was able to shoot so much better with it.

Brush rest

Installs very easy and quick. Peel and stick in place. Brush come extra long so you can trim to desired length. I think it works even better shooting cockfeather in.

Clean arrow flight

the perfect rest for my 1960's bear polar target bow

Happy with rest

Excellent rest

I bought an ambidextrous recurve bow (Barnett Sportflight Recurve). My son is lefty and I'm righty and we both wanted to be able to shoot it. The stock rest was way too narrow (1/4 inch) on each side and completely useless; the arrow fell off the rest too easily, making it frustrating. So I bought this para-rest to help extend the rest (put one on each side - attaches easily with read more the included adhesive-backed pad). It works PERFECTLY. It is about 3/4 inch, and angles up slightly. We adjusted the string nocks to maintain straight shooting alignment, and this rest makes 100% positive difference in shooting the bow, and it is not intrusive. Highly recommended.

The Brush Rest is approximately 1" in diameter and the whiskers 10 years ago

The Brush Rest is approximately 1" in diameter and the whiskers are roughly 1/2" long. You would install the Brush rest to the plate so the whiskers are horizontal to hold the arrow on the arrow rest.

Can the brush elevated rest be used with a compound bow? Also, why is it usually recommended to place the nocking point above rather than square with the rest. I don't understand the logic of this.

You could in theory use the brush rest on a compound bow however 5 years ago

You could in theory use the brush rest on a compound bow however most compounds are meant to have a rest that sticks out further to bring it back to being center-shot. Using a brush rest will put you well past center. Putting the nocking point above the rest allows your arrow to stay straight when pulled back and shot.

Not sure anymore. Today's compounds are meant for fancy rests an 5 years ago

Not sure anymore. Today's compounds are meant for fancy rests and mechanical release aids. I would have to see the bow and the riser shelf area in particular. As for nock point, you have to determine that by tuning your bow and arrow combo.

between the rest and the nocking point you need room for the arr 5 years ago

between the rest and the nocking point you need room for the arrow. the arrow goes between the rest and the nocking point. that way the arrow is level. arrow is above the rest and below the nocking point. yes you can use the brush rest.

I don't believe it would work very well. It has an adhesive back that is meant to be set at a semi-permanent location.

I have a homemade longbow I recently inherited. It has no shelf for the arrow to rest. Would this item work for a rest or do you have another product that would work or should I just shoot using my hand as a rest?

which would be better the bear weatherest or this rest

I feel that the Brush rest would be a better choice over the Wea 11 years ago

I feel that the Brush rest would be a better choice over the Weather rest. The Brush rest is flat across the top which will not affect the arrow flight where the Weather rest has a hook to help hold the arrow on. This hook will sometimes catch the arrow a little upon release causing some erratic flight.

Yes, this rest is ambidextrous and will install the same on a LH bow and a RH bow.

Asked by AKBowhunter 12 years ago

Can this rest be mounted under the leather wrap on your lynx 2 Hungarian bow so I don't have to shoot off my knuckles?

It could be mounted like your wanting with a little modification 12 years ago

It could be mounted like your wanting with a little modification to the rest, but the correct thing to do would be get a shooting glove for the hand that you shoot off your knuckle. With the use of that glove you will no longer dig feathers out of your hand and scratches are a thing of the past. Below is a link that will take you to that glove. http://www.3riversarchery.com/SCA-Medieval+SCA+Gloves+%26+Tabs++Hawkwood+Bowglove_c53_s252_p0_i4002X_product.html
