Carbon-Z ILF 15" Riser Reviews

Excellent 15" riser for the money-won`t break the bank.....

Wanted wood ILF 15 inch riser for hunting. Didn't want to buy a $750 "safe or wall QUEEN " and then nick it up in extreme hunting area's . Did some research and decided on this riser . Glad I did . Fits my large hands well . I pair it with a set of Samick 62 " foam core limbs 55# @ 28 . Also have a set of DAS longbow bamboo limbs for it . This riser lots of bang for the bucks read more . Bare bones riser , shoots off shelf . Durable so far and " purty" ' gets the job done . When you have legally killed a big game animal with it , I yet to be asked by an elk etc ' Hey who made that riser' !!!.....

I got a carbon z 15" riser a couple months ago I'm a pretty loyal 3 rivers customer but I will say I got the riser from a different online retailer for $95 less. Being a loyal customer though I'd like to give a review on it for 3 rivers since there's only one other review and I'm sure people pass this riser by based on that. First I will say this riser is beautiful!!!! I love the read more wood and carbon i shot a satori 19" riser for 2 years and it was "ok" it was always cold to the touch hunting mid and late season in ohio and HEAVY. This riser doesn't soak up the cold like metal risers. People say short risers are not accurate but this riser is for sure more accurate than I can make it be. Arrows come off the shelf clean with the nice radius shelf. I use 3 rivers calf hair on it works well. I'm running it with a set of tradtech blackmax 2.0 wood glass recurve limbs and it's smooth as butter with no stacking at my 28" draw and 40# limbs which are 43# on this riser max out turns on the riser is 2 my limbs are rated at 40# all the way out on the limb bolts so I can actually get About 46-47# with this riser being 15" and limb bolts bottomed out. No finger pinch but i shoot 3 under and the set up is 60" amo OMP for sure isn't your Hoyt tradtech etc. mains stream riser company but this product really is well crafted and purdy.

3Rivers matched this riser up with Hoyt Satori Short limbs in Realtree Edge Camo for me. The color combination goes together well making this a gorgeous bow. The components arrived today and after a quick set up I shot at least a hundred arrows. I didn't want to quit. It is hard to review the riser and limbs separately as I am sure that both contribute to the bow's performance. read more I ordered the limbs in 35 pounds and the short 15-inch Carbon-Z riser jumps my bow scale up to 40 pounds which was my goal. I really like the grip as it fits my hand perfectly. The bow is light and will be a delight to carry in the field. I have an older 50-pound takedown bow from 1989 and it was obvious tonight that the 40-pound Carbon-Z was getting the arrows to the target quicker and with greater penetration. The riser is just as pretty as it is in the catalog. The ILF configuration is a great feature as it gives the archer so many more options. 3Rivers thought the combination I chose with Hoyt and Carbon-Z would be a good one and they were right.

I have personally tried our DAS Bamboo long longbow limb item number 816826X on the Carbon-z ILF 15" riser making a 62 inch bow. I did not notice any noodling or unnecessary flexing of the limbs with this combination. I have seen the noodling happen when a longer limb in a lower weight is used making a longer bow. If you like you can give us a call at 260-587-9501 and we can go over anything you like.

They are pretty similar overall besides the length. Ive shot both and was impressed all the way around. I have a soft spot for short risers so I like the 15" a little more.
