Beautiful longbow
This classic English longbow is beautiful! I have received many compliments at the archery and at the renaissance festivals. All the little kids love seeing it and there eyes light up when they get to hold it. The bow shoots great! Simple to string up and transport. This is by far my favorite bow. I barely use my modern recurve anymore. The longbow has character! People are… read more amazed by the horn knocks! Cool little touches like that make this longbow stand out.
The horn nocks are not good
The bow shoots just fine, but the string grooves on the horn nocks are angled poorly and too shallow to hold the string for more than a few shots. Also, the edges of the grooves in the horn nocks are sharp and because of the poor angle, the string rubs against the edge and cuts the bow string over time.
I would recommend having a bow made specifically for that kind of draw. I would look at Pine Hollow Longbows and see if they would build that or know anyone that would.
This bow should not be drawn past 28"
We have sold a lot of these bows but we have got a couple back for string grooves that are not quite the right angle. Overall it seems like a good bow.
This is a D shape bow that is approximately 72" long.
For this bow you would need a 68 inch string.
