Horn Block Reviews

Excellent Quality and Durability

I do not do a whole lot of archery. I am an atlatl thrower and this horn block is great for knocks, spurs and I even used a piece as a practice point. Most of the material I have used has been hard woods and antlers. This horn block is so much more durable and easy to work. This is the perfect piece for custom pieces in which the builder is striving for a truly one of a kind read more finished product. Beginners should not be apprehensive though. This horn block is also very conducive to quick any easy usability. It is possible to work this material with an extremely sharp blade, however simple poorer tools, such as a Dremmel, make superior finish a breeze.

You can flatten the bamboo a little bit if you are just doing a limb tip. If you are doing the whole bow you will need to crown the horn.

um ok so what are the projects u can use a horn block for and can i file one side down and affix it to a wooden handle like a hatchet

I do not know that I would recommend the hatchet idea. This is 13 years ago

I do not know that I would recommend the hatchet idea. This is commonly used for reinforcing limb tips or decoration of various items. It can also be used for nocks or points.

I want to consider the horn blocks. The question I have is.. Is one block going to be sufficient for one bow. Or would you recommend two blocks? I would imagine if the block is thick enough it might be easy enough to cut in half with the band saw.

Depends on how you are going to use the horn block. If it will 13 years ago

Depends on how you are going to use the horn block. If it will just be an accent then you may be able to get 3 or 4 bows out of it. If it is going to be a main piece in the riser then you may need 2 or 3 blocks.
