JewelStik® Diamond Bench Stone Reviews

Jewelstik Diamond Bench Stone is a pleasure to use.

I would choose this tool first in most cases unless there is a nick, and begin to work an edge on the blades using light and even pressure with a wetting agent, counting the strokes untill a good edge appears and then work it over lightly with the White Magic Strop. These are well made and can be attached in a variety of ways.

Great to finish the edges on knives and broadheads. You can choose to buy one with different grits for your needs. Good quality item.

I bought this to sharpen some woodsman broadheads that were shipped too dull for use. Either this is the wrong tool, the broadheads can't be sharpened, or I am too dull to use it properly. I'm going to give up and buy some broadheads that come sharpened.

Great sharpening stone

The fine grit is a great sharpening stone that puts a nice sharp finish on my broadheads.

I bought this to use with the KME broadhead sharpener. It is big enough to use with even the biggest heads and light enough to carry in your pack.

Thinking about getting this along with leather strop for touching up Vpa terminators and woodsmens, would this be a good setup ?

This works great for the Woodsman broadheads. A flat surface is the best for keeping the angle of the broadhead.

I bought this stone a few weeks ago. It is purple in color. Can you tell me if what I have is the medium or the fine grit? Thanks

I believe you have the fine grit. The ones I have on shelf are more of a blue. The mediums have a black base. At least what we currently have in stock. I am not sure if they change from shipment to shipment.

I have both stones and you can clearly see with a watchmaker's loupe that the purple is the fine sharpener. Talking to other woodworkers this is one of best diamond hones and works best with light strokes. With light strokes, the quality of edge is much better. Others have reported ruining their diamond hones by bearing down hard while sharpening.

How wide is this stone? It's hard to find one wide enough to work well on the big Grizzly broadheads.

The JewelStik Diamond Bench Stone is 6" long and 2" wide. Should be enough space for working on a Grizzly, but depends upon your sharpening method.
