Didn't love it
It is durable and sticks very well, I am unsure it it is because of the product or because I serve my fetching English style. Perhaps it was very abrasive. It started to get very soft where my arrow passed and very grabby. Minor but caused a speed difference.
Leather Arrow Rest
Used this leather piece (two pieces actually) for both the shelf and side-plate on my Savannah longbow. Very satisfied.
Best Rest so far
I shoot a lot arrows every evening and was tired of wearing out all the other rests that I had tried. So I decided to try this leather rest and love it. It also sticks down to the riser very well.
One tough leather!
I used this leather as a plate for my horsebow and it worked perfectly.
Exactly as advertised
Seems ideal in every way. No complaints and it works well.
Perfect for my viper longbow
been shooting for almost 50 years, best rest for my longbow that I ever used. whenever I use adhesive products in hot weather they tend to wear out quickly. no complaints about this
Good bargain
Great service
Fast!!!
For years I was useing the "rug" style rest, and they work pretty good but ware out fast. So one day when I was ordering a new rest for my recurve I thought I'd give the leather a try. I'm glad I did, these things realy give a fast, smooth, and quite release. Buy one and try one out for yourself, you'll see what I mean, they work greate for shelf shooters!
Best Longbow rest there is.
This is the tab I've been looking for. Outstanding quality, perfect smooth release. I will order several more, cause when you find a good one, they will quit making them. This tab is the best I've used in 51 years of shooting.
LEATHER ARROW RESTS
I FIND THESE STRIPS EASY TO CUT WITH SCISSORS TO ANY SHAPED SHELF.THEY STICK ON EASY AND GOOD.THEY WEAR IN A BIT AT FIRST AND THEN HOLD THAT SHAPE A LONG TIME WHICH MAKES FOR A CONSISTENT ARROW REST.
It's just a personal preference. They seem to perform about the same for me, although I prefer the hair rest.
In response to the leather arrow rest. I like the hair rest on both my recurves and longbows. This is just personal preference. Leather works just as well, just not my preference after trying both.
Leather or hair rest on the shelf of a recurve . Depending on the use of the bow, if I was hunting I would prefer the hair rest a little quieter. If as you say the shelf on your bow is flat I would have a slight ridge under the leather. A thin piece of plastic or a piece of wood from a tooth pick would work. The ridge should be above where your hand contacts the riser, the deepest part of the throat. Minimum contact, minimum noise. I would think wear should be about the same ,if you look after the leather it could last longer than the hair rest Sent from my iPad
I like a carpet rest and hair on the side plate. Leather would be ok for side plate but not the rest.
They do the same thing the hair rest is a tad quieter but the leather rest lasts longer Sent from my iPhone
Leather plates last longer. If you need a thinner plate to get you arrow tuned in then you would pick calf hair.
I do not recommend that you shoot plastic vanes off of the shelf with any material. They will greatly shorten the life of anything that you put on there. Feathers lay down as they pass of the shelf, Vanes do not move, causing the arrow to deflect off.
The under side of the Leather Arrow Rests and Plates will have an adhesive backing. Just peel off the wax paper type backing and stick.
You need no adhesive for these rests. I would suggest taking the shine off the rest area so that the adhesive grips even better. Note that there is a little give to the rest due to the spongelike underlayment under the adhesive. this makes the rest absorb shock from the arrow imo.
The thickness on the Leather Arrow Rests are 3/32nds.
