Leather Longbow Tip Protector Reviews

Decent quality, works

This is a decent-quality bowtip protector. I definitely didn't want any of the ugly plastic ones on my wooden longbow (the Mocking Jay bow from 3Rivers), so this was the next best thing. It's more like suede, not a true leather. The color is pretty accurate; I can't tell much difference between the picture on my screen and the real thing - maybe it's a slightly grey-er color. I read more probably would buy again, but I do with there was a better quality one available, and not a plastic one.

Kinda small.fits bear Montana Longbow perfect

Okay, but not great

I purchased mine for my Bear Montana Longbow. It has worked well for almost three years, but the hole has become stretched out over time to the point that it constantly slips off. It would have been nice if the portion behind the string was attached with Velcro that would allow you to make adjustments. Also, I would have preferred black to match my bow, but it only comes in brown.

Does what its suppose to do.

A bit pricey for what it does.

Leather Longbow Tip Protector

Prior to buying this product I read a review where the guy said he didn't like them because they kept falling off. It was a concern but I went ahead and bought them anyway, one for each longbow and one for each recurve. I find that they fit quite snugly and probably would not fall off. However, I wrapped an elastic band around the outside of the tip protector just at the string read more notch and have had absolutely no issues with this product. They do what they are supposed to do, protect the tips of the bow from damage and or delamination. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone who shoots traditional bows. These bows are beautiful and they are expensive. This product will help to keep your bow in new condition for a long time.

Not bad, not excellent

Because it is leather, you have to take your chances on whether it will fit your bow perfectly or not. I have a Tomahawk SS and it went on well but is not that snug. My biggest issue with it is that it falls off when the bow is unstrung which means my string falls off and loses a few twists and it becomes a pain to string the bow, unstring it to adjust brace height and string nock read more placement and then unstring it again in order to carefully get this leather tip protector back on. That said, it does do what it was supposed to do (protect my bottom limb tip) and I don't have any major complaints. I am one of those guys that will stand his bow up on its bottom tip when taking a break from shooting and I know that my tip would be much more scratched without this protection.

Great little add-on

Nice little add-on to dress your bow up a little, and also very functional. I am always resting my bow on the ground between shots or while waiting in turn. I haven't noticed any appreciable difference in my shooting, despite some claims that the added weight on the tip of the limb could make a difference.

Alright

Alright tips. Won't fit large limbed bows without a fight. I got two, the bottom stays on all the time and I modified the top so it'll slip and tie on. Gives a nice look. I was a little hesitant to buy them because the price was a little much for something so simple in my opinion. Especially for something that can wear down within a years use. But they do what they're meant to do.

Works as advertised

Not bad, but...

Ordered this about 9 months ago for the bottom limb on my Bear Patriot Longbow. It was a snug fit (I had to use needle nose pliers to pull it on), but I made it work. Im one of those archers that likes to use the bow as a sort of walking stick (not putting any weight on it), so I purchased this to help protect the bottom tip. It worked great up until about a week ago where I noticed read more that the stitching had come apart exposing the tip. Now, I won't say this isn't durable, because I mainly shoot at 40 yards and its a lot of walking back and forth. It did its job, i just wish it did it a little longer.
