Leather Recurve Tip Protector Reviews

Definitely a Must Have for Recurve Hunters

I notice a lot of the reviews about this product being noisy and what not. I am not sure if they are putting it on wrong, or if I put it on wrong (ha), but mine does not rattle at all. It might be something to do with limbs as well, I am shooting a Samick Sage, and it fits snug. I also like that it helps keep my string in place, while also protecting my tip, which was getting read more pretty torn up between hiking through the woods and just everyday practice.

I got this item for my Bear Kodiak Mag after I just loved the oneI had purchased for my classic longbow and it wasn't just durable and functional but it's classic look and classic feel adds a sexiness to my bows that a little piece of rubber just can't compare to!

Leather But A Little On The Thin Side

I had to play around with this a little since I've never installed one. I looked at a photo and saw how it went on so the string holds it in place. It seems like the leather is pretty thin so I'm going to be careful where and how I set my bow. I had some leather waterproofing spray that I use on other gear so I gave this tip protector a light coating too. I think the water repellant read more will extend the life of the leather.

Recurve bow tip protector

I have used these on my martin Hunter recurve bows for years. They fit great and help protect my bow tips from damage.

Well made product, works as expected

Happy with the product, but not happy with the shipping charge of almost $7. These two items could have easily fit into a 40 something cents first class letter.

A complete waste of money!

The concept of protecting the end of you bow is good but not very practical. You have to take it off each time you unstring the bow. Although my recurve tip is 1" wide it widens and the protector does not fit well and keeps on falling off. A complete waste of money.

Very Trad looking

I put this protector on the day I received it, but didnt' bother shooting my bow before going afield. I like to rove on quiet mornings when deer aren't moving so after taking a few shots at yucca plants and noticed a rattling noise after the shot. At first I thought it be my quiver or arrows but after arriving at my vehicle and further inspection revealed it was the tip protector. read more Never imagined it getting that noisy.

Looks good but had a problem

It fit perfect but rattled against the limb like loose limb bolt. Amazing considering it's made of leather.

Typical 3 Rivers Quality

Took a few weeks to get product due to it being back ordered but am very satisfied with my purchase. I'm new to traditional archery and 3 Rivers has been a great place to find traditional accessories. Orders ship quickly and pricing is better than some other sites I've seen online. Will definitely shop there again.

I would make sure that the string goes through the slit in the leather. This will hold it on the bow when it is unstrung.

I'm not sure if it will fit, but I bought this and it didn't stay on my bow very long. It is really noisy. I went with the rubber ones. They are much better imo.

Hello, should I purchase 2 of these, or does it go only on the bottom, not the top as well? Would there be any downsides to having it on the top?

You will only need to use a tip protector on the bottom limb. The only purpose of the tip protector is to keep the bottom limb tip from being scratched up when it touches the ground.

Hi ! I'm just curious! I want to know how to install it using a bow stringer ? The inner part must be placed between the string and the limb so... Merci!

Are you trying to put it on the top limb or the bottom limb? Th 13 years ago

Are you trying to put it on the top limb or the bottom limb? These are only meant to be used on the bottom limb. I would not recommend using one on both limbs. It would make it difficult to use a stringer. If you have any questions give us a call at 1-866-587-9501 or send an email to [email protected].

You would not use the bow stringer to install it. What you would do is use it to hold the string in place while you pull the limbs back while sliding the unsecured loop into the re-curve/longbow notch.
