Generally when building a bow you will use 4 pieces of wood and two pieces of fiberglass. Getting the bow to 40 pounds will require thinner lamination. here is a link to a chart you can use to help get an idea. https://www.3riversarchery.com/pdf/LongbowChart.pdf
