This Product made my Fleetwood timber ridge 200% quitter amazing product thanks.
Great quality for the price
Got these for my late 60's Shakespeare Sierra and it completely eliminated the string noise. Previously it was a pretty loud bow and now it's more quiet than my hunting compound bow. Great quality and works great. And for the price you can't go wrong if you are a recreational trade shooter like me. Haven't used it for hunting yet but if it's more quiet than my hunting bow I'd say… read more it would be pretty good for hunting.

Yes, just cut it the rest of the way. It probably just didn't get cut all the way through from the vendor.

If you were to install two pairs of these on the string it will help the noise. I would recommend to go with the Musk Ox or Quiet Wool silencers because they will dampen the string vibration a lot more than the fur silencers.
There is no need to use more than one pair of otter silencers to silence your bow. Sent from my iPhone
Two are recommended and almost all of these sell by the 2. A nice even dampening of the string is best. I got the otter fur ones because they are more traditional. However, if you are truly trying to silence your bow, I would recommend the rubber cat whiskers. If it is a takedown, I would also recommend that you put some kind of gasket where the limbs touch the riser. If it is still making too much noise, make sure that your brace height is at the correct level. -Cole
Yes, two sets will help. Put them about 4 inches apart.
These come a one pair.
There are 2 to 3 '' after the are installed.
I normally put mine 10" to 12" from the tips. You can actually change the performance of the bow by the location. I recommend trying a few different spots to find where they will work the best for you.
I have intalled mine , one to 8" to my longbow's upper limb and the other to 12" the lower limb, These are very effective and easy to install !
When these get wet you will not see a difference in the arrow speed.
No these are water-proof, otter hair has oils in it that make it water-proof so that in the winter or cold weather the otters don't freeze to death from being wet.
Mike, IMO I have never noticed any negligible difference in speed from any of my bows while having wet otter fur silencers on. In fact I prefer them to beaver silencers or yarn type. The decrease in noise they provide, I feel is better than all others for the traditional archer.
All of our otter fur comes from New York State Otters. They are legally trapped and tagged and are not an endangered species.
Yes, you are right in assuming this is something other than sea otter fur - it comes from river otters. A different species. Abundant and not endangered at all.
Yes they come in a set of two .
Yes, in the description it says "pair"
You would install these before you string your bow.
install before stringing the bow. use a nail on a wall or something similar to hook your bow string to ,this way you can keep tension on the string and split the string in half for starting the silencer and ending. very simple an effective.
